{Ferrero & Sewing Notions -- RIP Pietro...}

This almost gives me goose bumps, as I made these photos on April 10 after I did do some sewing and thought hey, let me share this great find with my readers... Learn from Mariette. That great find is the use of empty Ferrero gift boxes, for putting up sewing notions. It perfectly houses all kind of threads and with a rubber band around, it is perfect to sort by color. Got about five myself and it works great. You don't have to rummage through different boxes to find what you're looking for, as you clearly see the contents!

SAD to read that yesterday, on April 18, Pietro Ferrero died at age 47... May he Rest In Peace!
Ferrero Roche hazelnut chocolates are great together with a good coffee and now you know another great use for the gift box after that last one has been consumed.

A nice way to recycle and keeping our planet green!
Glad to share this with you, but sad knowing Pietro Ferrero is no more...

  1. Hello Mariette,
what a truly sweet idea, to use this pretty boxes for sewing materials. I really wolud love to "work" on this project to empty this boxes. :-)
Yes, it is so sad, that Mr. Ferrero died so early, especially when I think on his young family. But the pralinees Ferrero will live forever.

  3. Hi Mariette -- I am trying to reuse old boxes and tins and cans for storing things. Have some containers like this too. Your confederate azaleas are glorious! Sadly, I spoke too soon yesterday -- we are in the midst of another sandstorm, and our internet was not working again last nite. :( Thanks for all your visits to my side of the world. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Best wishes, Tammy

  7. 47 is just way, way too young to go...how sad for his family:( When you mentioned it in your comment on my blog I didn't put 2 and 2 together and associate him with the chocolates. He certainly has left a wonderful legacy.

    Have a wonderful day Mariette:)

  9. Hi Mariette, I sorry to hear that a young man is gone, on the other hand these chocolates are delicious! Here in Puertorico is a factory of these, that on several occasions to visit them to sell gifts that are given in the companies on crafts etc. I think here they do other things besides the chocolate, and you know that for years take these boxes of chocolates of different sizes, styles etc and I have seen women as well use them to your store! I had some that were red and transparent bottom up, not very deep, deep and yours are super useful! Not if you also have used the Danish biscuit tins to store too? here as long accustomed, it is even funny. In these days I'm recycling a few pots or bottles of different things for my "studio" for sewing and is so fun, dressing and decorating. At the end see the end product use and decorate your space, Hugs, Rose Marie

    Marlies
