{My Hand Knitted Linen Top}

For summer, nothing feels better on our skin than LINEN. I have hand knitted this khaki colored linen top and LOVE wearing it. So it did come into the suitcase with us to Florida. These photos are from September 19, and are taken inside the gardens of the Hyatt House Miami Airport. One of our favorite Hyatt hotels that feels like home with its suite concept and fully equiped kitchen.
Wearing my hand knitted linen top here with my Escada khaki shorts and Escada Sport sandals.
As accessories I wore my tiger eye necklace and bracelet (not visible in photo).
We had three days of rain in Miami, so everything looked rather damp.
The accent on the back... which I did alter.
I went for a boat neck design instead.
More in detail...
This was on the day before we departed to central Florida, on our way home...
Do you love to wear linen in summer?

  2. Dearest Mariette, I absolutely love linen and it is so perfect for our hot and humid weather. Woven linen fabric wrinkles but that is part of its charm. Besides, you don't have to press with perfection.
    Love to you, ginger

Linen is perfect for our region. There are very nice blends of linen with silk and that works fine for avoiding wrinkles. Linen comes in different qualities too.
      Love to you,

    1. Dearest Theresa,
So sorry you happened to get a rough version of the otherwise very soft linen. Wool can be very scratchy and it's hard for wearing directly onto your skin.

  27. Dear Mariette, thank you so much for the anniversary wishes! How do you remember everything? Really, if I could just get myself organized, I might be able to remember actual days, too. I'm lucky if I just get the right month. Ha! I've not been able to blog visit as much lately. Did I miss the most about your surgery, or did you not mention it? So glad to hear all went well and that you are on the mend. Hubby is okay but will require surgery for a chronic condition that is apparently more common than I thought.

The pewter factory was interesting. My boss is a history buff so I bought him the book detailing the history of the factory and also a small shot glass to go along with it. He was delighted with both.

Your knitted top is so lovely! And I do like your hair at this length. Wishing you a great day. Tammy

I've not visited a lot of blogs either... but important is that we manage our lives! No I did not mention this on my blog as there are certain spies that check every post and every comment without EVER leaving a word.
Hope your husband's surgery will go well and help him get past some problems. Life is full of surprises as we age but thank goodness we have great health care!
So glad you got to find special gifts for your boss and for yourself. At that time I did buy some gifts for my sister, for a dear friend and for ourselves. The quality is exceptional!
I love my hair short like this for summer; just enough length to tie it up for swimming...
