{Our Gazebo in Summer}

As a Mid-Week photo I love to show you our Gazebo in Summer...
The light is playing through our dogwood and also the Vintage Woodworks ginger bread looks like wooden lace...
Not very visible here but the Aged Copper Aluminum Slate Roof from Interlock Metal Roofing is something we still are very pleased with!
Together with our Balcony, it makes for a favorite spot to enjoy tea, lunch, supper or even breakfast!
The view of the pond and over the garden makes it just perfect.
Enjoy your day; wherever you are!

  4. Hello Mariette, Blogger is finally letting me leave a comment today!

Summer houses are such a great way to enjoy the leisurely weather of this season, focusing equally on human comfort, old-fashioned aesthetics, and getting close to gardens and nature.

    Enjoy yours in good health!

We sure do enjoy this most favorite spot in the garden where we can be surrounded by the birds, squirrels and even have hummingbirds dive through the gazebo. Overviewing the pond is so peaceful too. Nature is the best medicine for human beings to be fully at peace!

  7. Good Mariette, Your Gazebo is a beautiful place to sit to enjoy the shade. I love sunshine, but I much prefer sitting in the shade, looking out at the sunshine.
I love what looks like lace, but is carved wood which you have added to your gazebo.... you have such a wonderful sense of detail.
    Enjoy your day.

Yes this is a very pleasant spot and with the fan running above head makes it very comfy to sit and relax.
Don't you think that 'lace' can come in many varieties, even carved out in stone like one can see at the Taj Mahl e.g. This wooden lace work is so lovely and it sure did add a very romantic touch to our home and gazebo. More in the style of Gone with the Wind...

We thoroughly enjoy our gazebo, it is such a lovely place to sit quiet and relaxed, in the midst of nature. Our felines always do join us and lie around on the wooden deck floor.
Indeed, with lots of over cast the temperature has been a lot milder for the time of year. Usually August can be oh so hot; but this is pleasant!
Enjoy your little deck with the boys.

A perfectly beautiful place to enjoy a summer day! I know how hard you work to take care of your beautiful home and gardens, so you most likely don't get to sit and relax as often as you like, but I am glad that you have this charming and shady spot to contemplate all of your hard work. Lovely.

  17. Dear Mariette,

How wonderful your gazebo is (love the clogs) and looks like the perfect place to relax and have a cuppa and be one with nature with the birds and the bees. Reminds me of a band rotunda in the park, which was opposite the home I grew up in.
About the Anagypta we can buy some of the designs over here in NZ but for some reason they do not keep the Dado one in stock and said they can't get it hence having to try and track it down ourselves.
    Happy weekend

Too bad you cannot find your selection in NZ but even if it is hard to get it, the reward lateron for having found it is even bigger! Patience is the key word...

Even though in summer it is very hot and humid and only the fan cannot take hat away. When it rains you might get wet still from the rain that gets blown into the gazebo. We keep our pillows in a bin to protect them from all sorts of moisture.
But we do enjoy it on those milder days.
