{Tulips as Patio Pot Plants}

Since Voles do actually snack on Tulip bulbs, we decided to grow some as Patio Pot Plants!
Lovely color and there was just one early bloomer!
Photo is from February 23...
One forerunner and the next planter box contains some Angelique tulips that still have to bloom.
Will share them with you whenever they are ready!

    1. Dearest LV,
Thank you and yes we too love them but it is the VOLES that love them even more as those bulbs are gourmet food to them. That's the trick for not putting them in the full ground but in a planter instead.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

    1. Dearest Claudia,
Yes, for avoiding those tulip bulbs being eaten by pesky Voles, we have to use Planters or Pots.
We again enjoy a fabulous week with full sunshine! Pieter just finished mowing the lawn.
Wonder why they don't react, I had the same problem with one question I had about a particular sizing for details...
      Hugs,

  8. Dearest Mariette,
Tulips in planters is such a great idea. Finally we can add them to the spring garden!
I have forced tulips the way people force daffodils in January. It's so nice to have blooms in the middle of winter. I don't know why I never thought of putting them outside. Thanks.
The snow is finally melting, rain today which definitely helps!
Looks like you are enjoying spring days.......*s*

We are quite happy for having once again tulips in our garden, even though they are tricky it seems. Only one of these opened up; a perfect beauty but it puzzles us why the rest did not...
Yes, you could put them outside indeed and enjoy them within sight.
So happy for you that the snow is melting and we are having such perfect weather; like a dream!

No way that we want to feed those voles with expensive tulip bulbs...
They sure are cheerful and especially after a long and dreary winter without any color.
Happy spring to you as well, here it is dream weather; Georgia at its loveliest!

      Liefs,
      Mariette

  18. Good Afternoon Mariette, How lovely to see tulips in bloom and such a beautiful colour. At the moment I just have a tip of a tulip popping it's head through the soil and I cannot wait for it to bloom. What a shame that you have voles who enjoy a tasty snack of tulip bulbs, but such a good idea to keep the tulip bulbs safe by planting them in a container.
    Enjoy your day.
    Best Wishes

Thank you for stopping by, did worry about you... Yes, tulips create happiness as they look very beautiful.Voles love gourmet food; picky eaters like we all are if we have a choice!
Guess this keeps our bulbs safe from being devoured.
Hugs and hope spring soon arrives for you too.

  21. Hello Mariette!
Your patio must look gorgeous and colourful with these tulips, an I bet they are not the only flowers around, although they might spring out a little later.
Did you fill the space left by your old pine tree with a flowery bush?
I hope your weather is bright and sunny,
Enjoy what's left of the week :)
