Heavenly Fragrance of our 1934 Ehrlicheer Daffodils

Every year it is such a joy to fill a vase or two with our heavenly fragrant 1934 Ehrlicheer Daffodils!
This photo is taken on Saturday, February 4.
Inside our veranda on a side table...
The fullness of these heirloom daffodils is like a dream!
The silver Christofle frame is holding this photo from both of us, taken on November 13, 1987
Yes, like heirloom daffodils, such photos too are rapidly becoming heirloom pieces!
Wearing both Burberry; Pieter a woolen tie and I wear the woolen skirt and a silk scarf in a matching Burberry plaid.

Thanks for visiting!

Enjoy your week and hope you got some fresh flowers too.

    1. Dearest Janey,
Chances are big indeed that you never have seen this heirloom daffodil van 1934. The bulbs are still being sold, from the links below my post.
Yeah, that photo I was a 'child' from 36...
      Hugs,

Thank you and yes, all the heirloom daffodils are highly fragrant! That's why we selected them for our garden and they keep rewarding us year after year.
Well, all three are in the heirloom range in that photo but I do love this silver Christofle frame with both of us in it!
      Hugs,

  5. Hello dear Mariette,
    Yes time flies so fast!
Hold dear your memories and the fact that you are two... It makes a world difference to travel with your companion.
Back from Paris, a beautiful city but to move around there after leaving it some 45 years ago is quite stressful!!
Keep well and enjoy the rest of the week!

    1. Dearest Noushka,
You are so right about those 'framed' memories together! There will be a time when it is all we have left...
Oh, Paris is no longer the same as when we visited in the 70s, 80s and last in 93 I guess.
It is sad to see those changes and not all for the better.
We try to stay healthy and look forward to the real spring. Still need to accomplish a few projects but I'm getting there.
Hugs and wishing you happy moments for spring.

It sure is worthwhile for keeping such heirloom daffodils from 1934.
And likewise for keeping my heirloom husband!

Well, the forebodes of spring are here for the heart of Georgia but Atlanta, being even more north from us for sure is still different. Slowly we're getting to the warmer season. One more night frost tomorrow...

  8. Your daffodils are beautiful, Mariette! I can only imagine how heavenly they smell..but I sure can enjoy how beautiful they are :-) They look so heavenly especially with a soft natural light on them! Love the photo of you and your husband Pieter. You are such a beautiful couple!
P.S. I'm sorry to hear Bandido had limping but glad it was temporary. Kids have to be more careful :-)

Thank you and yes, their perfume is most rewarding, we enjoy them for as long as they yield fresh new flowers.
Yes, that is a lovely photo from both of us, it has its forever spot that is for sure.
Bandido did again jump down from my lap yesterday when my iPhone suddenly rang. He did limp also so I know he's just too reckless and lands too hard at times.
But how do we tell them to be more careful...?!
      Hugs,

  10. What stunning flowers! They are simply gorgeous. What does the 1934 mean? Is that the year the hybrid was developed?
How lovely to have flowers blooming. We cannot hope for any for another three months! Thankfully, we can get blooms at the grocer's for a little pick-me-up.
What a lovely picture of you and Pieter. I hope you are both doing well. xo Deborah

Aren't those heirloom daffodils stunning indeed?!
Yes, that is the year they got cultivated and you can still order them.
The links below my post do have that information.
We always have opted for heirloom varieties as they are the most fragrant and stunning looking ones.
Oh well, the picture is heirloom too but thank you and I too love it and its having a permanent spot!
      Hugs,

Yes, on February 4th I took those photos from the 1934 heirloom daffodil.
We very often did wear 'partner-look' and with the Burberry plaid it worked out well.
Glad you love my new header and that will be the next post!

Auch zu den Narzissen dauert es bei uns noch. Heute hatte es Schneegriesel gegeben, aber nichts blieb liegen, es ist aber sehr grau gewesen mit Temperaturen um den Nullpunkt.
