Our Acer Saccharum Marshall or Sugar Maple Tree at its BEST

Already on November 20, I've taken these golden photos of our Sugar Maple Tree or Acer Saccharum Marshall.
Such a marvel to look at this Acer Saccharum Marshall!
Here you see the white bridge just to the right below the Acer Saccharum Marshall as this photo got taken from a different angle.
The weather at the time was fabulous too!
Bonus of living in the South...
Its neighbor the Red Maple or Acer Rubrum photographed with the house in the back.
Our Italian cypress are still alive, that is two of the original three. Though not very happy as they show lots of brown. We love them so much as they remind us of our time in Italy...
To the right are the leaves of yet another of our Acer trees, the Acer Negundo Kelly's Gold
A beautiful Ginkgo tree we captured on our recent biking trip on November 28!
Such a glorious sight.
Wishing you a great autumn or summer, depending which part of the world you are in.

Thanks for your visit and comment.

  1. Hello Mariette, I love autumn so much; that is one reason that convinced me to stay late in Ohio this year. Unfortunately, although there was a little color, fall this year was basically a dud. Often there is so much color (Ohio has large maple-beech forests) that one simply gasps when taking it all in. We also know some places where there are wooded vistas that are usually spectacular. Lucky you--your trees are all magnificent.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Yes, this autumn was a perfect one for our garden, much to our surprise in regard to late summer's drought.
No doubt can Ohio put on quite a show with its maple-beech forests but as you mention, 2019 was not a highlight year in color display. It is so true when living in near the equator that one misses the seasons and autumn is such a special one.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  5. The trees are glorious! Our trees lost their leaves ages ago now, it seems, and today everything is covered in white with 10 - 15 cm of snow overnight. Very different climate, ours to yours. :-)

Even if it is only for a brief moment that we can enjoy these colors, it is nature's splendor.
You got lots of snow then and yes, that is quite a contrast to ours here.
      Hugs and stay cozy,

  9. The sugar maple tree is beautiful with gorgeous colors. Stunning with a blue sky in the back and also the leaves color the ground so beautifully! And I love the gingko tree. The bright yellow leaves are a treat for eyes in autumn :-)

    Happy December, Mariette!
