{Our Fragrant White Paeonia 'Ann Cousins' is Blooming}

Don't we all LOVE Peonies? We have tried over the years so many different varieties, mainly white ones but with the heat we have down south, it proves really hard. Last year no blooms at all...

But this year we got rewarded with a huge white and fragrant flower on our Paeonia 'Ann Cousins'

So I love to share it with you here!

Love this gem! 

Photo is made next morning as it was rather dark in the late afternoon for making any photos.

It is all white, no red specks or whatsoever.

White Flower Farms used to sell these but not any more.

Too bad Adelman Peony Gardens are located in Salem, OR... Would love to visit them!

• Today we were lucky to have a full bouquet of gorgeous Paeonia 'Ann Cousins'! 
• They are really heavy and the perfect way to hold them with enough counter-weight is by using the heavy crystal Baccarat Harcourt Pitcher. 
• I was lucky to get this one from an estate sale on eBay, for a better bargain than at Neiman Marcus! 
• It is 6.25" tall and just perfect for such huge flowers. 
• Promising the widower to take good care of his wife's prized possession. 
• She will be so proud, looking down from heaven onto such perfect flowers!
• And taking good care of the pitcher; I WILL!

{PEONIES: BRIDAL GOWN & LA TENDRESSE}

HOW lovely a peony can be... We have been enjoying the variety 'La Tendresse' and 'Bridal Gown' in a vase for the past couple of days. They both are pure white and so lovely!

It is rather difficult to capture the beauty of Paeonia 'Bridal Gown' in a photo. Had to change the background and also use the flash, to let the white come out better.
But these photos will give an impression of its stunning beauty. The white is a nice contrast with this blue Royal Delft pottery, a 7" Royal Delft vase from De Porceleyne Fles anno 1653. The small blue napkin is one from my beloved Mother-in-law, who handmade an entire set for me with a tablecloth.
She stayed active doing things like that, till she almost was 95!
Treasured things that have become keepsakes.

Here I want to introduce you to the Paeonia 'La Tendresse'. Another beauty in white that I placed inside a Baccarat Shalimar Perfume bottle.
