{Antique German REPOUSSE Silver ANGELS Napkin, Letter or Card Holder}

Offering here a very rare and unique Antique German REPOUSSE Silver ANGELS Napkin, Letter or Card Holder for either the Office or your Tea Table. It is such an elegant addition. Below this post you find more links with also photos as a Card Holder. Hope you enjoy this special piece of silver work by German Silversmith ADAM MANNS & SOHN. This Holder is from before 1938 when they added a dot to the AMD silver mark after son Wilhelm took over. You will see info below.

The Silver Mark 800 AMD by ADAM MANNS & SOHN

This is the older mark from before 1938 as it is in a different sequence and without the • (dot) behind AMD as later was used by Adam's son Wilhelm

{Conrad Moroder, Italy | Angels & Cherubs}

As you all know by now, I love ROSES and ANGELS. Or CHERUBS, PUTTI, whatever you name them! Here I like to show you some beautiful pieces from Italy, by Conrad Moroder. Neiman Marcus sold these in their catalog and I did copy that page, as I fell in love with them. You can click on Conrad Moroder's link above, for going to their website.

These are large ones and quite pricey but gorgeous!

Always realizing that they are HAND carved from wood in South Tyrol, Italy during their long winter months.

Or in Austria or South Germany.

Having lived in Italy we know which area they are created, we drove through quite often.

They are also hand painted and actual 24 ct gold is being used on them as well!

Christie's is showing here a South German Parcel-Gilt and Polychrome 18th century angel of about the same size, that sold at triple Neiman Marcus' price.

{5 Angels - Putti from Italy & Germany}

Okay, there are 5 more Angel - Putto heads to be shown here. Four from Italy, all from the South Tyrol region and one is from Germany, Oberammergau. Again, solid wood is being used such as Linden; Maple and Cendia Pine. Quite understandable for the South Tyrol, Italy region and also the Oberammergau Germany region with their long winters and lots of snow, this is a great job for killing their time. The results are fabulous as they've passed on those skills from generation to generation since the 1700s. We can only admire their talents for creating such lovely pieces that we can keep as heirlooms for decades if not longer. {6 Antique & Vintage Italian Angels, Cherubs Putti}

From Italy I have 11 different antique and vintage handcarved wooden Angels, Cherubs, Putti. In my previous post {Our Living Room ANGELS - CHERUBS} I did show you the ones that we have brought back from our trips. They are permanently displayed in our living room. My ANGELS - CHERUBS - PUTTI are the REAL thing, made out of special wood and hand carved in South Tyrol, Italy.

Due to the long winters with lots of snow in that region, from October till April, they have taken up this ancient art since the 1700s. They use only high quality wood from Linden, Maple and Cendia Pine trees. This Cendia Pine tree, also called Swiss pine or Arolla pine, grows at a high altitude, in the Alps. Wood carvings are expensive and that is because the tree has to be 75 years old before they can start drying it in a natural surrounding for several years, before the actual carving is done.

This is a beautiful painted Cherub head looking to the left with an eye from its back for hanging. It is quite large with 8" width and height. I do have the one that is looking to the right also, so they could be hung as a pair.
