Come Visit us in Indonesia and meet my skilled Couture Seamstress Ms. Yati

In June of  1994, when we were over a 3-week period back in Indonesia, for consulting at the mushroom farm, we arrived from Jakarta in Yogyakarta and then some two hours driving up into the mountains.

At the Guest Bungalow in Kalianget we stayed and were enjoying a leisurely Sunday.

Before dark, we did go to nearby Wonosobo for bringing my sueded silk from Hong Kong to Ms Yati.She was an excellent couture seamstress from Jakarta and she also knew English.Due to her aging Mother having dementia, she'd come to rural Central Java as a caregiver...So that's what we did, dropping off the material, sewing pattern and explaining to her how and such.That gave her the time for finishing my dress, before we would depart back to the USA.

Wearing it on a Sunday to Mass and then changing, before heading to the airport for our flight to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, visiting my Parents and Family.

Always hard for leaving a perfectly blooming summer garden behind.

Ms. Yati did an excellent job on this sueded silk dress with silk lining from Britex Fabrics in San Francisco, with zipper and silk thread from Britex Notions.

Pieter happy for soon being able to visit with his two brothers and family...

We always looked forward to those trips to The Netherlands; did that 66 times!

Loved the fabric when I touched it in Hong Kong, and loved my choice of dress!

Shillington, Pennsylvania where we lived

 After our stop in Virginia for one night and next day lunch at General Lee's Headquarters in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania we continued to the Hampton Inn in Reading, PA.

That made our trip now around 800 miles or 1287 km.

Pieter did a seminar for Campbell Soup in Temple, PA.

Meanwhile, I was free to roam around and visit the apartment where we both lived for almost half a year.

Here we are at 402 Community Drive in Shillington, Pennsylvania where our Mercury Sable slept outside all winter, no garage nor carport.Also I spent time at our favorite antique Weaver's Mall, a huge mall with several antique dealers.Found some of our French Baccarat glasses and a decanter with silver spout and lid.That was November 7, 1994Next day I went with Pieter to the Campbell Soup Mushroom Division office, as Pieter did a farm tour, and I did crochet 16 Christmas ornaments for our City Hall: {16 Crocheted Christmas Ornaments I made for the City Hall's Tree} ←click link.Pieter also did a farm tour for Georgi Foods and started his two days of seminar in Temple, PA. Final seminar day at Kenneth Square and it ended with a buffet.Tough days for doing such a one-man-show! So now you know where we all lived; Dublin, Georgia; Shillington, Pennsylvania; Cornuda in the Venice area in Italy; Wonosobo, Indonesia and again in Dublin, Georgia...

Salem, VA + General Lee's Restaurant in Gettysburg, PA

 No, we did not always work...

Here we are on our way to Pennsylvania, and our first stop is in the Appalachian Mountains in Salem, Virginia after driving some 433 mi or 697 km.

Onward we went to Gettysburg in Pennsylvania to the Civil War Battlefield and General Lee's Headquarters. Next door was the General Lee's Family Restaurant.Now 707 mi or 1138 km away from home.This was on November 6, 1994
