{1897 Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep Sepia Photos in Oak Frame}


Cupid Cutie Josephine Anderson was four years old as she modeled for infamous photographer Morris Burke Parkinson, in 1897 for these darling Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep prints.

Because of the glare, I have scanned this oak frame with the two individual sepia prints of Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep.

These very rare sepia prints were available at my Zen Cart powered on line boutique: Mariette's Back to Basics 
The outside frame dimensions are 8¼" by 6¼".

For an age old paper this held up very well!

This is the true color as the antique printing has almost faded, I did darken the above photos to just show you the original printing text.
I've carefully removed the two cover pieces, only to prove that they are authentic 1897 prints. There is no photo from the frame with the antique covers in place...
This would make a great Valentine's Day gift!

    Hello Mariette,
    nice pictures. It seems always amazing for me how much a photo conserve the memory to a person. Who would remember little cute Josephine Anderson today if she hadn't modeled for this photo. Such a cute little girl. Indeed this would make a lovely Ventine's gift.

    Hi Mariette, Thanks for the help! I think this all abilites. Looking at your last post I have been pleasantly surprised, as they make a buy back the two images of Cupid, framed original mine are not like yours that will have more value. I'm excited because I ignored their provenance, or history and today I read and admire the little Josephine's always up and down my stairs. I love both these pictures and many have asked me where I had bought it! so it is fascinating to the collector to know the history of its origin and especially that you are buying the originals!, I'll put them so that you can see. affections, Rose Marie

    Zauberhaft, dieses kleine Mädchen. Wie sie wohl in späteren Jahren ausgesehen haben mag? So alte Dinge und Bilder könnten viele Geschichten erzählen ...

    jetzt sehe ich auch Dein neues Design, sieht sehr schön aus, wenn alles ein bißchen luftiger ist.

    Es war mir noch gar nicht bewußt, daß ich im Friend Connect noch nicht eingetragen war. Habe ich schnell nachgeholt. Wobei das eine Prozedur war, denn es wollte zunächst nicht klappen! Das habe ich leider öfter mal - wohl auch ein Blogger-Problem.

    Denn oben über die Blogger-Leiste geht es heute mal wieder gar nicht. Da steht ganz oben links immer nur "Freigeben" neben "Missbrauch melden" und "Nächstes Blog" ;-) So daß ich es über das Widget (in meinem Blog) versuchen mußte, da wo die Bilder mit den aktuellen Posts anderer Blogs drin sind. Da ging es aber auch nicht. Letztendlich habe ich es über Deinen Blog dort bei den Bildern "Invite your friends" vorgenommen und es hat tatsächlich geklappt! Normalerweise verfolge ich andere Blogs immer nur über die obere Zeile (Blogger Bar), wo jetzt das "Freigeben" steht.
    Und wenn das gerade mal nicht möglich ist, komme ich irgendwann später wieder, um es erneut zu versuchen. Aber so geht es ja nun auch (denn der letztere Weg, auf dem ich es heute geschafft habe, ging auch vor einer Weile bei mir nie!)
    Was meine Mutti betrifft, sie hatte eine böse Augengeschichte und ob das überhaupt nochmal ganz richtig wird, wissen wir noch nicht. Aber in dem Alter kommt ja eins zum anderen und es sind noch andere gesundheitl. Probleme, wo evt. noch Operationen anstehen. Da werde auch ich noch längere Zeit mit beschäftigt sein.

    It 's always amazing to me how a person's picture will save memory. Who remembers the cute little Josephine Anderson today whether it would be a model for this photo. Such a nice girl. Of course, this would be a wonderful gift twenty.
