{Our Garden White & Icy Today as Snowstorm Slams South}

Only two days ago, I did introduce you to our Home & Garden in the Snow. Today we woke up to a white world again. Not just snow but freezing rain. Schools were closed and as Pieter arrived for his Cardio Rehab this morning he appeared to be the only one there! They'd bet however that Mr. Vedder would show up; he sure did.
Of course, we're from the snow country that makes us more familiar with the situation.
The world's busiest passenger airport; Atlanta, was closed down...
Our Double Cascade Pink Petunia kept things looking ROSY though...
You can see them in a previous blog about {My Old-Time Spun Glass Halloween Ornaments}

The rose spinner, hanging from the Virginiana live oak, you can see in my blog about {White Indian Jasmine the Queen of Flowers}
You can see the icicles hanging from the tree. Just click on the photo to enlarge.
For a previous view of our gazebo without snow and ice, you can go to: {French Floral Pillow Set and our Gazebo}
Our Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) has its leaves hanging down...
The new leaves are upright, towards the heavens, praying for sunshine.
Icicles on our Rosmarinus officinalis 'Prostratus' or Creeping Rosemary.
Can you make out its blue flowers under the icicles in the center? It blooms year round and usually when the sun is out, the bees are always visiting.
Our Phlox subulata near the driveway had already started blooming...
Hope this freezing rain thing will soon be over with!

  1. I'm sorry that you were in such bad weather and ice. And here in Croatia has recently been so, and I live at sea. Olive trees in my garden have cracked the ice and snow.
    Kisses, Zondra Art

  2. Good morning Mariette,
    Thank you for visiting my blog, leaving a comment and becoming a follower. Good luck with my give-away on Thursday!
    Your poor garden is encased in ice! Brrrrrr! I hope that the sun shines hot for you today so the ice will melt and not cause further damage to your precious plants. The petunia does look lovely. My garden is frozen and covered in snow, but it happens every year. Not like your garden that is supposed to be beyond the snow/ice belt!!
    I am going to check out the charms in your shop and sign up for your give-away.
    I hope you have alovely week.
    Warm hugs, Laura

  5. Hallo Mariette,

  7. Oh I love your gazebo! How nice it must be to sit out there, in warmer weather of course:)

    I was just watching the morning news here and they showed Atlanta airport. They said even though the runways are now opening up, most of the employee's can't get to work!!!!

    Stay warm my friend:)

  8. Hi Mariette,
    What a gorgeous sight. I love your pics and the one pink flower makes it all so special. Even in the cold it can share it's beauty.
    We are freezing here and it is bitter cold. Snow is melted on the streets but still hanging on to the grass and bushes.
    Good day to stay in and create. Hope you are doing well and hope you received my 2nd reply email with the pics of the sign I have to decorate. It is all I can get into the studio at the moment. But if you can't use that one, no problem, I will continue to shop my sources for another similar to the first you liked.

    Hugs and love from Texas,Celestina Marie

  9. Dear Mariette,
    Everything looks so beautiful in your pictures!! I know snow can be a nightmare, but it leaves wonderful landscapes, perfect for taking pictures! Here in Barcelona is not very usual see snow, and when this happens (every now and then) it seems like the world is going to end!! I guess we are not ready for cold weather...

    Hope you have a wonderful day!!

    Hugs&Kisses

    Alles Liebe nochmal
    Sara
