{Amaryllis White Nymph in Our Garden}

First off, I like to wish you all a Happy Easter weekend!


  • On April 8 we had this beautiful Amaryllis White Nymph, blooming in our wood garden. Yes, it does grow outside year round! We were lucky to have it in full bloom before we even went on vacation to south Florida. Most of my blogs I had prepared ahead of time. But we've come home in time for the Easter weekend.
  • This Amaryllis we got from White Flower Farm where we bought numerous plants and bulbs over the years. Highly fragrant huge double white blooms come on a very thick stalk, with even more than one bloom per stalk. It resides in our wood garden now for more than a decade.   • There is a resident inside this Amaryllis... A spider has woven a cobweb to probably trap flying insects and than attacking them from below. Nicely sheltered from the rain him/herself, as those petals are rather thick and strong.
  • A hairy resident...

    Wauw... die is mooi, is een van mijn favoriete snijbloemen, maar die kunnen we hier natuurlijk niet planten.
    Nooit eerder gezien dat iemand die in zijn tuin had.
    En wat leuk van dat 'huisje' in de kelk.

    herrlich diese Amaryllis. Es muss wunderschön aussehen in Eurem Garten.
    Interessant ist der Wohnort der Spinne schon. Sie wird genügend Beute machen, denke ich.

    wat "vreemd"om deze bloemen zo in ht "wild "te zien!! Hier kennen we ze vooral als snijbloem he, en dan in de winter!
    Ik wens jullie een heerlijk paasweekend! Hoop dat het weer net zo stralend is als hier!

    Meine Güte, bei Dir wachsen die Amaryllis so im Garten und hier zieht man sie mehr oder weniger erfolgreich in Töpfen groß.
    Genau solch eine weisse,gefüllte Sorte habe ich mir zu Weihnachten gegönnt :)
    Liebe Mariette, danke für deine Mail, habe gerade versucht es umzusellen, aber nun landet man nur bei potobucklet!
    Wieso weiss ich allerdings auch nicht.
