This is another Azalea from the Confederate series in our garden. Rhododendron 'Stonewall Jackson' azalea produces bright orange-red, funnel-shaped flowers in spring. Flowers are quite similar to the flame azalea.
On April 5, I made these photos of the orange Rhododendron 'Stonewall Jackson'. Too bad I could not capture them before, due to heavy rain...

Lovely color - are they smaller than the pink azaleas that grow on the bushes? Do they not have very many blossoms? I may have seen a small tree near the lake and thought it was a honeysuckle or something - I'm still not familiar with a lot of the flowers of the South.
ReplyDeleteDanke schoen und bis bald,

So many pretty colors here! Perhaps I shall just sit here for the rest of the morning before I go to work and have to look at all the white snow on the ground... :(

Gorgeous images of your blooms dearest Mariette and the color is amazing!! Thank you for your sweet and your always exciting comments. The tea chest was made by my friend's sister, I had a giveaway with one last year. The top has some pewter etched by her, she's very talented. Have a terrific week and see you too!
