Have to share this beauty with you, our Purple Blue Campanula portenschlagiana, a Yugoslavian Native. If you do love purple blue as much as I do, this is it. We got ours at Trader Joe's just before we left for our cruise to the Bahamas. I could NOT resist them. They were presented in such a cute little pail, in a soft lavender color, that they had to come home with us. Glad I took some photos. Do you like them? Is any of you having them in their garden? Our region is too hot for this kind of perennial for spreading freely but I certainly did enjoy this mini-garden in a pail.
Purple blue is for me connected with spring. Certain colors we also love to wear for different seasons. Or is this only me...? Actually I did place my Laurèl wool, angora and cashmere skirt as a backdrop here. The light purple Villeroy & Boch egg matches perfectly. Below this post you find some related links about this perfect porcelain.
Photos are made outside in daylight and you see the changes in color...
If I love something, I love it passionately and let not go easily!
Still hard to capture the 'true' purple blue color with the ever changing sunlight...
Here are two of the Villeroy & Boch eggs.
This photo shows you more of the soft lavender pails that the plants were in.
That is such a neat idea! Love those people that come up with new ideas on and on.
Photos are taken on May 6...
Do you have any purple blue favorite flowers?

ReplyDeleteDearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteOh, how gorgeous your Purple Blue Campanula♡♡♡ I am really amazed its beauty with your wonderful pictures. Purple is known as a noble color in Japan. I think I love purple iris♪♪♪
Thanks for the "Christian Pentecost" I checked a little. I hope you are enjoying your holiday, my friend.
Love you always, xoxo Miyako*
Blue Campanula is one of my favourite summer plants but I don't think I have ever seen this purple blue flower here. These look so pretty in their little pots and I can imagine they would be stunning partners for Lavender.

Ciao Mariette! Queste campanule sono meravigliose, anch'io le ho piantate nel mio giardino. Adesso sono ancora piccole, appena cresceranno un pò, te le farò vedere.
ReplyDeleteA presto e buona settimana, Lecoq
Those are beautiful flowers Mariette! I love any flower that's any shade of purple or lavender, it's such a lovely color:)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful Monday!
Such beautiful flowers. Such a lovely shade. And certainly they would not last here. I thought it was rather funny today that Olympia commented that it is not the dust killing my geraniums but me because I didn't care for them like children. HA! When there is dust nearly every other day, not much I can do about it. Geraniums don't have smooth leaves so the dust really clings to them. And they won't survive the summer heat anyways. It's always amazing to me when everyone plants petunias during the "winter" season here and they are able to last as long as they do. Of course, they too have their time limit and only last for a while. With temperatures above 100 now, it is harder and harder to keep some things going, as you well know. Sometimes even tender loving care isn't enough. :) Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeletethe color of the flowers are just delightful and yes we love to wear purple as well!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and great photos! I love that color!
ReplyDeleteDear Mariette, I am so glad you shared the beauty of the Purple Blue Campanula. I don't think we have them here in Australia, if we do, then I am not familiar with the name. I would certainly love to have such a gem in my garden. I am wondering if they have any fragrance? My favourite colours are blue and lavender, and green and brown. At the moment I am thinking of how much I love Lavender, and Purple Hydrangea's. Hydrangea's usually flower here in November (late Spring). Just thinking about makes my heart smile. I hope you have a week filled with brightly coloured blooms and plenty of smiles! Love and care, Kerrie xoxo

Die blauen Glockenblumen sind ja eine himmlische Pracht! Bei uns gibt es diese oft in kleinen Töpfen zukaufen, ich glaube, draußen halten sie sich auch nicht.
