On April 25, we did receive this Hibiscus Blue Chiffon from Logee's Greenhouses just before we went to Florida on the 29th. It is planted again in a larger pot for on the patio, just have look...
Just a beautiful, double Hibiscus called Blue Chiffon
Six weeks after we received this beauty, she is blooming perfectly.
June 12, in the sunshine on our patio.
Since I did not yet know our new Nikon D3300 camera, this photo in the shade is not the best one but I found the two fallen and folded up buds so special for showing how they end their cycle...
Don't you just LOVE this Hibiscus Blue Chiffon?
really lovely color and unique layers to that flower. :)
ReplyDeleteDearest Theresa,
DeleteThank you, it is unique and very lovely!
Hugs,
Mariette
Such a beauty. When I hear "hibiscus," I think about big red flower. Or pink or white, usually not blue.
ReplyDeleteThe blue chiffon sure looks unique and very lovely!
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteYou are right on that one as there are a lot more red or pink and white ones. Double Hibiscus are already rare and when we saw this beautiful blue chiffon; we had to order it. No regrets!
Hugs,
Mariette

Dearest Michiko,
DeleteWell, six weeks was actually a very brief period from tiny plant into blooming for this lovely blue chiffon Hibiscus. It did hurry up for us.
So glad that you had a pleasant break from your month-long rain by having your son and the children visit you! That always makes for happy times.
You are quite welcome and I will always write in your blog's space as I do admire you.
Hugs and happy weekend to you dear.
Mariette
Dear Mariette.
ReplyDeleteYes, what a beauty your Blue Chiffon Hibiscus is - have never seen this variety before.
Wishing you a very happy weekend
hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn,
DeleteIt is always good to check out Logee's catalog as they for over 100 years specialize in rare plants, mostly tropical but so gorgeous. We can keep them as room plant or on the patio instead of having them wilt away in winter. These Hibiscus however are winter hard.
Hugs and wishing you a peaceful weekend,
Mariette
What a gorgeous colour. It will be even better next year when it grows a little.
ReplyDeleteDearest Kay,
DeleteYou are right about that, give it one more year and it does bloom even fuller.
Sending you hugs and wishing you a peaceful weekend after so much tragedy for your country and my birth country.

ReplyDeleteSou apaixonada por hibiscos.
Tenho vários desses no meu jardim.

Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteThe blue hibiscus is beautiful. I had no idea such a beauty even exists. I assume that it would have to come indoors for the winter in these northern climates.
Enjoy your sunday.........*s*
Dearest Suzi,
DeleteWell, it is available in Connecticut via Logee's and this one is hardy till zone 5... They appear to be amazingly strong.
Happy Sunday evening and enjoy a good new week.

Wow, blue hibiscus♡♡♡ Such BEAUTY with rare color, Mariette; Your new camera is working well.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry my belated comment; having busy and hot muggy days (^^;)
I hope you're doing fine, my dear friend. I'm starting to catch up with my friends' post.
Sending you lots of love and hugs to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Dearest Miyako,
DeleteThank you for visiting this rare beauty! Yes, the Logee company is selling very rare and exotic looking, mainly tropical, plants. This one is hardy though.
This is the hard part of summer and yes, humid and muggy it certainly is. Had terrible back problems from the humidity and going probably inside the airconditioned home. The weeds got pulled but I paid for it with a cold on my back's muscles. It is almost over now...
Hugs to you dear friend!
Mariette
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
DeleteThis is a new found beauty indeed!
Hugs,
Mariette
