{Christmas in Magical Ortisei, Italy}

Of course, having lived and worked in Italy in the Venice area for about one year, around Christmas, I do MISS Italy!
Virtual friend Loredana Stasi, the artist from the blog: Il filo del cuore Ricami The thread of the heart... Embroideries, did grant me permission to use some of her photos, to show you Christmas in Magical Ortisei, Italy.
La magia dell'Alpe di Siusi or The Magic of the Dolomites is the title of her original post!
Just click the pink hyperlink above...
The area of South Tyrol, northern Italy has such charm!
The Val Gardena, a mountain chain within the Dolomites is part of the Alps.
Look at such a DREAM!
Loredana went skying with her husband and son...
My comment for Lory on her post.
Yes, we always drove through this region of the Dolomites when going from Cornuda, Italy home via Innsbruck, Austria to The Netherlands to visit my Parents...
South Tyrol, is also the area for the famous hand carved wood, like this gorgeous outdoor nativity!
Thanks Lory for granting me permission to use your beautiful photos.
Below you find two posts, about this very talented artist Lory, she inherited her incredible skills from her dear Grandma Nonna Elisa!

      Liefs,

  7. Hello Mariette, What a privilege to have spent a year in Italy. I would not have guessed that for the location of this hotel, but I like interesting surprises.

A very Happy Holidays to you and your family.

    1. Dearest Jim,
You are absolutely right about that. If one had to guess for a quiz, it would have been very hard to come up with Italy. Gingerbread and the paint color make it more of a puzzle.
The typical shape of the mountains we did of course recognize, having lived there on the foothills of the Dolomites and passed through them so many times.
Enjoy also a Peaceful Christmas time!
      Kindest regards,
      Mariette

Oh, it is a dream and leave it to this part of the world for creating a very warm ambiance. Natural wood works very well and they also know how to prepare the most delicious food in the world. We are lucky for having a Lady Chef in town, that comes right from this very area...
Cold and crisp outside but very warm and comforting inside!

You are quite welcome dear; don't need to be moved as you deserve this! Over the years I've got to know you as such a warm and caring family person and the affection with which you spoke about your dear 'artist' Grandma (Nonna) has moved ME very much! That is LOVE and you manage to continue in her footsteps and create the most beautiful embroidery.
Thank you for granting me permission for re-publishing your excellent photos. So well captured, the beauty of the area that I have forever in my heart and it is also in Pieter's heart!
