{You can demand courtesy but you have to earn respect}

Sometimes in life we come in a situation where certain quotes do speak volumes.
Our Double Almond Tree was blooming and I used this photo for the quote.

      The Double Almond is actually more of a shrub as it is not big like a tree. But very pretty in the spring.

    Lieve Mariette,

    Zolang het welgemeende hoffelijkheid is die uit het hart komt en geen praatjes of gebaar om er zelf beter van te worden heb ik er geen moeite mee,helaas ondervind ik dat handelen uit eigenbelang de laatste tijd nog al eens.

    Mijn zoon moest deze week zelfs via het bedrijf waar hij werkt een dag cursus volgen over hoe omgaan met klanten,dat omgaan bestond hoofdzakelijk uit iemand stroop om de mond smeren omdat je daar nog altijd meer vliegen(lees klanten) mee vangt dan met azijn.
    De appel valt niet ver van de boom want zowel mijn zoon als ik hebben een broertje dood aan dit soort praktijken van zieltjes winnen.
    Treed de medemens tegemoet met respect,waardigheid,eerlijkheid en beleefdheid omdat je het meent en voer geen toneelspel op.

    En respect geven is respect krijgen.

      Ja, natuurlijk moet het welgemeende hoffelijkheid zijn vanuit het hart. We hebben op deze wereld jammer genoeg al téveel acteurs; betaalde en van het soort die het uitbaten. Jámmer!
      Nee, zo'n opgevoerd toneelspel is ook helemaal níks voor mij! Je laatste regel over respect geven is respect krijgen is zó waar en dat is ook blijvend!

    meu marido ficou feliz de saber que seu marido também é Rotariano. Ele é presidente do Rotary aqui de Osório-RS. Eu faço parte da casa da amizade. Temos feito muitos planos para a cidade. É muito legal participar. Uma pena que nos falte tempo para atuar mais na cidade. Linda frase. Esse é um assunto muito importante pois temos que dar respeito e carinho para termos também em troca respeito e carinho.

      Como o mundo é pequeno! Meu marido é membro desde 11 de maio de 1976 e foi presidente do clube holandês em 1978-1979. Então isso vai um longo caminho volta já. Ele nos ajudou em todos os lugares que nós vivíamos como rotarianos são as melhores pessoas para ajudar uns aos outros! Sim, a citação é uma boa... e devemos agir como tal, todos os dias.

      We cannot get around that one; it's a powerful quote.
      Would love to see such real almond producing trees. We do have them also in California and guess world wide there is a rather huge production of almonds. LOVE them!
