More about Mauzie our Dachshund that Immigrated to the USA

Mauzie with me at Pieter's office after I'd hung my hand crocheted mushroom window decoration.
On my very first Birthday, February 6, happy in Georgia!
Yes, I was having braces...
We enjoyed our mild winter in Georgia!
Wearing my woolen Burberry skirt.
May 18, 1984 Mauzie girl on the new 8 PK John Deere...
Pieter had gotten home by noon with this new 8 PK John Deere
Pieter is mowing together with Mauzie on May 23, using a somewhat more powerful John Deere here!
We had traded the other one in.
Taking his sunglasses down...
Mauzie in her sports bag, ready to fly with us to Amsterdam, the Netherlands on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Mauzie peed 7 x outside on the pavement and after drinking some water, she did an 8th time and she made me use the plastic bag for something else!
She fully understood we were flying for a long time and there are no doggy bathrooms...
Mauzie was a smart and cute girl!
She stayed with best friend Ellie and the kids, as both of us drove to Hungary for the Conference.
Sure I was knitting while waiting, needed to have always something on hand!

Yes, very sweet memories of her exact two years with us an immigrant Dachshund girl.
She sure was happy in her biggest ever garden!
Traveling with her was so easy; she fully understood.

  8. Hello Mariette, I am quite jealous of your lawn tractors. When I was living in Ohio, my last house had 2.5 acres, but since I was renting I did not want to buy an expensive mower. Had I known just who unreliable landscapers are, I would have spent the money and bought a large mower.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Sad to read that you are having problems with your landscapers and long for such a lawn mower.
We went on Pieter's birthday to life without any lawn mower. We both are lucky for having found a fantastic crew that come in when needed and doing it all in a meticulous way. Pieter is very proud of our grounds as they look better than ever.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  9. Oh my, how adorable Mauzie was Mariette, our furry family become so precious to us,they are so uncomplicated in their love for their humans. Can make it unbearably hard when they go 💜

Yes, our furry family is unconditional in their love and loyalty.
Losing her was quite hard, also because I could never replace her with another easy traveler like her. She was a one of a kind and super smart. Her Daddy was the Dutch Champion in breeding at the time, guess she did him proud.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  10. Hello again, Just to be clear, my landscaping difficulties were back in Ohio, when I rented a house from year to year, which turned out to be a long time, enough to justify a good mower. Now I live in an apartment with no lawn to take care of, but I am really more of a 'house' type of person. --Jim

    1. Dearest Jim,
Sorry, that sure was an oversight on my behalf.
It would nearly be impossible to have a 2.5 acre property in densely populated Asia!
In Italy we lived for nearly one year in an apartment, on the 5th (top) floor.
Before that, we lived in a Townhouse in Shillington, PA for nearly half a year...
We both love to have a garden and being able to walk around your house.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  11. Oh my dearest Mariette, my heart!!! Mauzie is such a sweetheart!!! I love that you get to see much of the world with her and it warms my heart so much because dogs are family members, okay I need not to emphasize that right? Every furbaby is just rooted in hearts and no matter if they leave us, they will always have their pawprints in our heart :)

    1. Dearest Carolyn,
Thank you, it sure was a cutie and taking her with us on the plane was just a matter of getting her a ticket.
We both are fine, just walked in after attending the Atlanta Pops orchestra with a singer, at the local theatre. With only less than half of the musicians, so they sat a bit more separated. We too had limited seating and all got seat assignment. No break and row by row exiting. It is a strange time, we're all being enslaved and restricted.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
