Our Kona Hibiscus

For more than 10 years, our Hibiscus 'Kona' Hibiscus rosa-sinensis hybrid is giving us stunning flowers.
Husband Pieter did bring this Hibiscus 'Kona' blossom inside to place next to my PC
Yes, this is only ONE Flower!
Just on September 4, I happened to view this, and had to catch it as a screenshot.
Such nice round and even figures, I probably will not see again...

    1. Dearest Claudia,
It sure is a special exotic type that we keep as a pot plant and it goes into the greenhouse in winter.

Well, this one we keep in a big planter and inside the greenhouse during winter.
So far we have managed to keep it alive.

  5. Hello Mariette, It must be nice to have a yard that you can enjoy for strolling, and then pick flowers for indoors like this hibiscus. When I rented houses, I was not willing to invest time beyond the minimum in yard work, as I never knew how long I was going to stay there. You and Pieter have achieved something permanent in your yard and garden.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Well, we are way past the era that our garden looked magical.
Trees continue to grow and they demand the majority of water available, so all of our roses have perished... None left!
We continued to keep some pot plants with exotics but them must winter inside the greenhouse. Husband Pieter no longer can lift them, so our yard crew takes them out in the spring and puts them back in the fall...
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  6. Oh dearest Mariette! The shade of these Hibiscus is just magical! It is so beautiful and reminds me of fluffy cotton candy! My cousin bought a hibiscus plant two weeks ago to be placed on their garden to remind her of my late Aunt, her mother, because she loves hibiscuses so much! Thank you for sharing this, Pieter did an amazing arrangement on this one!

What a lovely gesture for keeping the memory of your Aunt alive by honoring her with her favorite flower!
