Chipmunk photo captured with my new iPhone 13 Pro

SURPRISE when my iPhone 6 Plus suddenly died...
So I ordered a new one at Apple on September 17, and could pick it up in Augusta, GA on the 24th by appointment.
About a two hour drive one-way.
Next day on Saturday morning I saw our Tiggy-Tiger girl hold something in her mouth, as she was opposite the kitchen bay window, near a shrub...
So I ran outside in my Happi-Coat (see below) and demanded she give it to Mami!
She did drop it and I grabbed it, thinking initially it was a small bird... no idea that this was a teenage Chipmunk with sharp teeth...
So I told Pieter to grab my iPhone 13 Pro and capture it inside my hand.
The very 1st photo taken with my iPhone 13 Pro!

Chipmunk sure was not hurt at all and started to be very agile and I decided to bring it across the creek, using our 3rd bridge and letting it roam there.
That is at least a spot where our felines seldom (if ever) go to look for a 'playmate'...

  1. Good evening Mariette, What a tiny little chipmunk. Cute as can be. I would be scared it would bite me. Heard great things with these new I phones. I can see that the picture quality is excellent. Hugs, Betsy

    1. Dearest Betsy,
Just was so happy that Tiggy-Tiger dropped it when I told her to give it to me.
Never thought about being bitten; have grabbed so many critters with my bare hands...
      This one was so cute!
Photos are indeed excellent; very pleased with the iPhone 13 Pro.

  5. Hello Mariette, Chipmunks are also very common in Ohio. One some started nesting in my garage. I was going to clean out the side area, but then I noticed the chipmunks and did not want to disturb their nest or injure their young, so I stopped cleaning the area--at least this was my official excuse to get out of the job!

    1. Dearest Jim,
Oh sure they do reside in Ohio and probably in the entire USA and Canada.
You certainly got an excuse for not completing your task.
Our garage is closed and sealed off by those rubber flaps so they cannot enter.
But outside they of course reign and find many areas.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  8. I am going to be envious of your new iPhone .... my ancient 5s no longer supports 3g as of February 2022, ATT is sending me a free replacement. An XR which my techie son says is an ok phone. We shall see. It arrives today. Now comes making the transition from old to new in i Cloud. Wish me luck.

    1. Dearest Helen,
This is a win-win having my new iPhone 13 Pro.
Yes, the transition is quite a task; did it all myself.
There hardly is any service at the Apple Store nowadays, you have to manage it yourself.
Keeps our brain alert and 'young'... 😉
      Hugs and good luck!

      Abrazos,

    1. Dearest Christina,
Oh, since childhood when Dad showed us films about Knabbel en Babbel (Dutch) with their cute stripes.
Chipmunks are called Tamias striatus in Latin and Squirrels are Inamabilis sciurus.
      Hugs,
