Oversight of Dieng Plateau area in Indonesia with mushroom growing sheds and doing training

Just wanted to share with you this short video from our time of living and working in Indonesia in the mushroom business.

Pieter did climb up the mountain very high at one of the locations for giving you this overview.
The video can best be viewed on YouTube, so you can read the text below, where I've better explained with clickable points.
Yes, that was me speaking in my 7th language of Bahasa Indonesia.

Sì, dopo l'italiano ho studiato l'indonesiano per essere in grado di formare le persone lì.

  5. Hello Mariette, Those terraced mountain farms are so different from those in Ohio, and I am sure also the ones that you and Pieter were familiar with. That is the great advantage of traveling the world. I am super impressed with your linguistic abilities. How long did you study Bahasa Indonesia? I couldn't hear your voice well on the video, but your speech and gestures seemed fluid and natural.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Oh sure those terraces looked so different from what we were used to.
Well, I studied from with a lady that came to our guest bungalow but not for long as I did not gain much from her. Our job is so specific that I learned from the English speaking staff members and used that for my training down to the harvesting area.
Loving the people you interact with, helps a lot!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

    1. Dearest Veronica,
Guess you're the only of my readers that can actually understand as Malay is very close to Bahasa Indonesia. It has helped me so much for getting around in Singapore as well.
      Thanks for your compliments.

    1. Dearest Christina,
Indonesia is like paradise, we loved living and working there! AND eating...!!!
Well, since I had to train the harvesting crew and post harvesting, they had not had any formal education; so I had no choice but to speak their language!
      Hugs,
      Mariette
