Happy Saint Valentine's Day!

This is a photo, taken on Friday, February 14, 2014 on Saint Valentine's Day when we were in The Netherlands and visiting Mom during her long hours of Dialysis.
We did visit her 5 times during dialysis, one afternoon we missed — as we were visiting a 1st cousin—but that was when Dad was with her.
Mom has been a great role model all her life and I pray that I too will remain in such high spirits till the end of my CKD.
Oh, Mom so enjoyed our visits...

Happy Saint Valentine's Day to all of my readers!

    1. Prezados Taís,
Obrigado e sim, você descobriu a nossa semelhança.
Mamãe estava tão feliz que nos sentamos durante aqueles longos tratamentos de diálise.
      Abraços,

Thank you and yes, more and more I'm walking into Mom's footsteps and understanding her more. Also admiring her being such a trooper! She no doubt will help me getting 'there'.

  7. Oh, dear Mariette, your poor mom on dialysis. It brings back memories of my mom. She used to go as well, but not as long as your mom did. She was always cold there, and I would bundle her up with blankets. I went with her a few times, and it broke my heart. May both of our mom's be in peace now, and pleased that their daughters have become special friends.

    1. Dearest Sheri,
You are so right about the sight of Mom laying there for having her blood cleansed... I've admired her for doing that! Oh sure, cold and also feeling nauseating afterwards. My youngest niece gave Mom her slouch socks to wear because she was so cold—that was in the very end.
They no doubt are happily in heaven and watching over their children. Mom always prayed for all of her children, while having her dialysis. We all are related as one big Christian family and we were meant to meet for a special reason! Our Angels we know by name might manipulate things...👼🏻👼🏻
      Hugs,
      Mariette

    1. Dearest Debby,
We had a normal day as we both regard Saint Valentine's Day to be year–round!
It was interesting to see all the flower bouquets being offered at Whole Foods Market and also at Costco... Wonder IF they got all sold?!
My ride was pleasant in sunshine and NO traffic obstructions—just smooth.
Oh, that photo is a treasure now she's gone—so grateful that we made our 67 trips home to visit our loved ones! Such photos proof that it is worth doing so.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
