Happy with New Stephanotis floribunda or Madagascar Jasmine

Yay, what a happy sight at Trader Joe's—Stephanotis
Stephanotis floribunda has been my all time favorite fragrant flower!
Had them back in The Netherlands and also at our previous home in Dublin, Georgia and here at our home.
Ordered a Madagascar Jasmine (Stephanotis floribunda) from Logee's ←click link—if you don't live near any Trader Joe's...
nostalgic photo from 1988 on our solid oak windowsill inside a Delft White cachepot.
To me this photo is meaningful—for the memory...
When we moved up north and then to Italy, a dear friend kept this one for me and I got it back in May of 1992!
Closeup of the heavenly Stephanotis blooms in 1992!
And again here, probably without flash...
Photo from our kitchen in 1998 and in the center of our bay window, I had another stephanotis and two Hoya Cornosa plants around a metal ring.
Below my hand crocheted curtain you also see a Hoya Bella in a brass planter on chains.
We are about to have a baby Hoya Bella taking up residence there!
And here our new resident captured this morning at breakfast time!
Stephanotis floribunda from Trader Joe's
Residing on the Corian windowsill on our bay window in the kitchen.
Just like in the above image...
A healthy and happy new resident!

Do you have or had a Stephanotis floribunda?

  4. Such a lovely flowering plant, Mariette, such pretty blooms! I don't have the right light in this house for flowering plants (mostly I face north), and anyway, I've never had success with indoor flowering plants, either. I need the hardy, can't-kill-'em type of plants -- lol.

This is a true gem, also for its fragrance!
Now with the special FibrexⓇ Energy–Efficient Glass, they are well protected against getting scorched.
Our entire home has windowsills but we also have kitties...😉

  10. I like both the flower and its name Stephanotis. The tiny floor tiles in your 1998 kitchen drew my attention. Lovely! In our place, all floor tiles are about 30x30 cm ceramic tiles. .

    1. Dearest Duta,
Yes, it is a special name! Our floor tiles are 20 x 20 cm and we bought them in Italy and brought them over—they are still in our kitchen!
In our Rose Suite we have floor tiles from 30 x 30 cm, from Spain and bought here.
Guess we follow the European trend of having tiles and for the rest we got solid oak planks.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

      Mariette

  12. I love jasmine and the scent it emits.
There's a jasmine-covered arbor in my mom's nursing home and it really is pretty.
Beautiful photos as always, dearest Mariette.

      Liefs,
      Mariette

It is a gorgeous plant indeed and its name sounds a bit Greek.
Too bad you lost yours but soon there will be the scent of a replacement 😉

      Mariette

  18. Jasmine is one of my favorite flower scents. We used to have a big bush in the back yard of our old home. Whenever I went out there, it was such a strong, wonderful scent. I hope your jasmine plant lasts for many years, Mariette. It really is lovely. Flowers are the magic in our lives.
