{SPRING 2011 IS GRADUATING!}


Tomorrow it might be the last day of weather around 25°C and thunderstorms are predicted. BUT so far we've had SPRING really GRADUATING in our area. Today I took some photos from more Narcissus and also from our Japanese Magnolias or Magnolia x soulangeana in full bloom. Have a look...


Just to show you how big those Japanese Magnolias are. For 'portrait photos' such harsh sunshine/shade is not very flattering for the face but I am NOT the subject here... Pieter put this vinyl picket fence up a couple of years ago, to frame our property.  For those that live in the area, they can enjoy a Garden Tour at Mariette's Back to Basics with Book an Event.


We have had years with late frost and than the buds turned brown and fell off; no blooms at all. This year is perfect, even if we get a thunderstorm tomorrow.


Sacha, our female tuxedo cat did follow us as we walked our gardens. Our felines behave more like a dog in following and walking with us. They sure enjoy this perfect weather too; time to play outside again. The grass is starting to grow, there is a slight green haze. Pieter did mulch all the leaves on Saturdy by slowly running our John Deer lawn mower over it. That way all the nutrients of the leaves will get used by the lawn itself.


This photo of our Japanese Magnolia or Magnolia x soulangeana was taken on March 5, 2004. That shows that the blooming season is rather consistent.


Narcissus Sweetness were blooming and scenting the air with their fragrance. Most of our selected Narcissus are fragrant. That creates such wonderful experience when having a vase full of them inside the home!


Narcissus Cragford is emitting her srong fragrance to the air as well.

    Schitterend die roze magnolia ♥ En de narcissen heerlijk lente vooruitzicht. Het was ZO grijs en mistig gisteren hier, niks aan. Maar het wordt weer Lente, joepie (nu de temps nog hihi)

    Du strahlst ja geradezu mit den wunderbaren Magnolien-Blüten um die Wette ... wie schön! von solch' warmen Temperaturen und blühenden Blumen können wir bisher nur träumen ... aber ich bin mir sicher, auch hier gehts bald mit großen Schritten voran, die neue Jahreszeit hockt sozusagen schon in den Startlöchern ... übrigens, ich habe Dir noch nie gesagt, in welch' wunderschönem Haus Ihr wohnt .. es ist einfach ein Traum!! genieße die Wärme und die Blüten um Dich herum ... das alles gibt einem sicherlich neue Kraft und Energie ?! herzliche Morgengrüße schickt die Rosabella ♥

    Hallo Mariette,
    das sind ja traumhafte Fotos von deiner Magnolie.So schöne, die auch innen zartrosa sind, habe ich noch nicht gesehen. Die meisten hier sind innen weiß und außen dunkelrot. Ach ja, man hat hier richtig Sehnsucht auf ein bisschen Farbe und Duft. Noch ist Nachtfrost, da müssen die Blumen noch warten. Auch eure Katzen lieben neue Erlebnisse. Und mit den "Dosenöffnern" durch den Garten zu spazieren, ist immer interessant.

    Wundervoll, liebe Mariette! Herrliche Blüten!!!
    Bei uns ist es noch lange nicht so weit. Wir haben immer noch Winter und graues Wetter.
    Danke auch noch für Deine lieben Zeilen - in meinem Waldgarten blogge ich bei Gelegenheit noch. Mal schauen, wie es weitergeht. Wenn man so viel unterwegs ist, wie ich, hat man zu wenig Zeit fürs Internet.

    Hi Mariette, I absolutely adore the pink flowers. They are unusual and lovely.

    This book is totally readable. The only thing missing is the hard covers.

    HA! Wees maar blij dat ik NIET in de buurt woon want anders had je magnolia toch een paar takken moeten missen voor bij mij in de vaas!! PRACHTIG!!! werkelijk waar!

    Hi Mariette, what beautiful flowers! They look so healthy and the variety you have is a blessing, power cut and put in a vase inside the house and enjoy these wonderful. Those in the early post are so beautiful in pink old. You know these days I found out that your state Giorgia is a county or town called Marietta? Imagine, I thought about you, you do not live there, would be too much coincidence. Caught my attention, Greetings, Rose Marie

    was für ein herrlicher Augenschmaus in pink, in zitronengelb, sogar in zweifarbig, liebe Mariette, schöne, warme Temperaturen bei Euch die alles sprießen und blühen lassen...
