{1890 Longest Pedestrian Bridge in the World + Men's Best Friend}

In Chatttanooga, Tennessee you can walk across the in 1890 erected longest pedestrian bridge in the world! Quite a sight of the Tennessee river, while walking it. One time we did even bring Mom & Dad here, on one of their visits to the USA. Also Anita our foster daughter was there with us.
Daughter Anita did take this picture of us as a happy couple.
Wearing my black leather Chanel belt, Escada shoes and jeans.
Nearby you also find this marvelous statue of Men's Best Friend!
I would love to know if there is any particular story about tthis dog. Please let me know.

  1. I spent my honeymoon with my first husband in Pigeon Forge. Such a beautiful area. And have been to Memphis by train from Louisiana. But haven't actually visited this bridge. No doubt a lovely little walk. Have a terrific Tuesday. Tammy

  5. Wow .. my dear friend! They certainly do not make things that stand the test of time, as this bridge, any longer. That statue is incredible, I hope there is a story that inspired such wonderful detail!

    Thank you for sharing tea with me and your sweet comment. It's been unusually hot here too .. and we have been doing our best to keep the roses and other gardens watered. I'm saying a little prayer that my dad looks over your roses and they survive the heat in your area.... xo Blessings, HHL

  8. The next time I visit my son and daughter-in-law I will insist on seeing this very long bridge ... they keep their boat at Soddy Daisy and spend many days on the beautiful Tennessee River!!! (I will have to shake the doggies paw too.)

  9. Wat een brug!Ik zelf heb het niet zo met bruggen i.v.m. hoogtevrees. Ik ben blij als ik aan de overkant ben.
    Het beeld van de hond is prachtig, inderdaad een goede en trouwe vriend van de mens.

    Groetjes Sandy

  12. Dear mariette, chatanooga reminds me of a song that was popular when I was young - chatanooga choo choo? Never heard of it in relation to the longest pedestrian bridge in the world though. cheers, catmint

  13. I wish I knew more about this dog, but if he was created to depict the size that he was, he was very large indeed... there must be quite a story behind him. As for the bridge, how fascinating–I had no idea that it was the longest in the world... And may we just stop for a moment to talk about your outfit—how stylish you are, Mariette!

    xx, Sarah
