{Things Look Rosy}

We had a lovely weekend with dear friends. So things were really looking  'ROSY' for me. No, I'm not talking about the economy but about my crocheted rose filet cotton batiste blouse. The pattern appeared in Anna Burda magazine and I fell in love with it. So I bought the cotton batiste and some DMC nr 50 thread to crochet those romantic roses and sew this blouse. Voilà!
This is in the front porch on Sunday morning after Church, before calling Mom & Dad. That's our normal routine, over a cup of coffee we talk with them.
This is the Anna Burda model...
Worn with my Krizia Jeans skirt from Italy and Escada platform sandals.
From the back it looks rosy too! Had to put my hair up so you could see those filet crochet roses...
For those of you who would like to copy this, here below is the pattern...
Some x's are missing to the left (lower part) but that is suppose to be a double row, just like the bottom outer edge. You can also make a doily out of it and sew some linen inside the center and make it square.

  2. This is beautiful Mariette, love to make one for my sister, I hate wear sleeveless, got a big brown mark across my chest and down to my left arm, in summer I feel shy about the ugly brown mark. Anyway, haven't pick up any threads for age, too much in my mind and maybe its the medicine, I just can't consecrate anymore with fancy pattern. Still dreaming to make more... one day I will, I hope! :-) I do love knitting and crochet.

  3. My dear Mariette-- There is no way I would attempt making this beautiful top, but I must say you could have been a model! You look just beautiful in it, and as the French say: "Quelle ligne!" ;-) Greetings from the French Riviera where the weather is beautiful and life so fun! Veronique aka French Girl in Seattle

  5. Sei bravissima! Bacioni, simpatica e cara Mariette!

  9. Wonderful top, Mariette, you do beautiful work... BUT, even more beautiful than your top is your MOM! You look just like her, from what I can tell from your profile picture posted. And your Mom's figure? To die for! She has to give me her "diet." And what a nice routine you have for all of you to have coffee after Church... very inspiring.
    Best,
    Gloria

  15. You're quite a skilled crafts woman , Mariette, what a lovely piece of work!
Much as I do and love craft, sadly I don't have the patience for crochet, although my mother has.. I haven't inherited her skills ..
It looks a really nice blouse to wear with the hot weather you are having where you are, too.
And it looks lovely on you!!
    Have a lovely week!!

  16. Mariette, This is a beautiful blouse for a beautiful lady. My mother crocheted and I have a deep appreciation for any who can take a string and create some exquisite from said string. I know that is over simplification but it is true. You do a fantastic job and the blouse looks so lovely on you.
Hope you got some of the rain this past week. Make it a good week, sounds like you are very productive.
    Love to you, Ginger

  23. Lieve Mariette,

    Lieve groet,

    Madelief x

Hi! Your crochet blouse is so beautiful. What a delicate work! And it looks so lovely on you. Thank you for sharing the pattern. I'm going to send it to my mom. Perhaps she will feel like making such blouse for me. I would love to attempt it myself, but these days I hardly have any time for crocheting.

  35. Liebe Mariette,
