{1911 Book about The Dutch Twins - Vrouw Vedder}

From Pieter's former colleague at Campbell Soup's Mushroom Division, we received this antique book from 1911. Titled The Dutch Twins by Lucy Fitch Perkins, it goes about Vrouw Vedder and her twins in Holland... Not too often one finds his/her own name in print! Vedder is Pieter's last name and my married name...
Quite remarkable that this is already one century old!
The twins Christopher and Katrina (called Kit and Kat) with their Mother, Vrouw Vedder...

  1. Very cool book, and a nice gift, certainly. Wow. Just realized the book was printed before WW1! An antique to be treasured, certainly. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  3. OH THAT IS THE CUTEST PICTURE and sweet book! Mariette, how are you? SO NICE TO SEE YOUR VISIT and comment on my blog! You mentioned that you read my article in Belle Inspiration and mentioned that I had said I "crossed the time-line between Italy and France." I was speaking METAPHORICALLY....meaning that I had STEPPED BACK IN TIME with the feel of Italy being so much slower, the people not being so rushed...I felt as if I had stepped back into time like during the 1900s...that is what I meant....I hope that comes across as such to other readers..I always want to be clear. You spent time in the Netherlands? That is my dream place to go because I have so many dear, dear friends there!

Enjoy your new week back home!! Anita

  7. Lieve Mariette,

    Fijne week,
    Sandy

  13. Hello Mariette and Pieter, What a perfect and adorable gift! But one does have to wonder why the Dutch Twins are Grade III and the Belgian ones Grade VII. Oh well, I guess it is better to be classed among the more innocent and wholesome. I would almost be afraid to open that French Twins book!

    1. Dearest Jim,
Good question indeed and we both have no idea what the story is about in that French Twins book. This we have read and it is quite innocent but wholesome.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
