{Our Living Room ANGELS - CHERUBS}

As promised yesterday, you will meet today our ANGELS - CHERUBS in the living room. That is, those that reside on the mantle, and the others I will introduce to you some other day. Okay? Tomorrow I will be posting about some antique ANGELS - CHERUBS that I will be offering for sale on my on line Mariette's Back to Basics Boutique. Not the same as we have, but they too are from TYROL, either from Austria or Italy. There the wood carvers do this meticulous craft since the 1700s and not only are they displayed inside Churches all over Europe but also in many homes, as lots of people do collect them. Angels are heavenly and they kind of link us to another world, one without sorrow and pain. It would be great if we too could flap our wings and at times take off... Vanish from the spot where we at times get stuck in an overload of work or other problems. Soaring free and high in the sky where the sun shines and moving on to some nice and warm place. BUT, we cannot fly, so therefore we only can collect ANGELS - CHERUBS for reminding us of a better after-life, by placing them inside our homes. As far as I can remember, I've always loved angels and roses... For me, they are the key ingredients for romance and for creating a warm place that we love to call 'HOME'.
Our ANGEL - CHERUB residence...
All our ANGELS - CHERUBS are the REAL thing, made out of special wood and hand carved in South Tyrol, Italy.
Due to the long winters with lots of snow in that region, from October till April, they have taken up this ancient art since the 1700s.
They use only high quality wood from Linden, Maple and Cendia Pine trees. This Cendia Pine tree, also called Swiss pine or Arolla pine, grows at a high altitude, in the Alps. Wood carvings are expensive and that is because the tree has to be 75 years old before they can start drying it in a natural surrounding for several years, before the actual carving is done.
Please click here→ Rafaello Angel from Salcher in South Tyrol, Italy for viewing.
But once you make such an investment, it means this is for life and it becomes a family heirloom. Quite different from any resin product or worse, mass production from China...
The Italians do also use 23 Ct gold, so you can figure why their pricing is according to all that.
We love them and instead of having a Christmas tree with all kind of things, we keep our ANGELS - CHERUBS year round on display.
You can order this very Baroque CHERUB in linden with 23 carat gold (antique) at Lorenz ← click link.
Ours is 30 cm (+ 12") and the price would be 336.00 € or 453.00 US $ + shipping 69.90 € via UPS to the US and UK.
This will make you appreciate what I have to offer tomorrow in my next post...
Oh, the Baroque CHERUB we have is antique, that means antique painted with 23 Ct gold leaf.
Haydn ANGEL with lute, 25 cm or + 10" tall.
Haydn ANGEL with trombone 25 cm or + 10" tall.
Similar Haydn ANGEL as ours and the 25 cm in gold plated 23 Ct would cost 392,00 € or 529.00 US $
A 20 cm tall ANGEL on a cloud...
Our 14 cm Raffaello ANGEL
To the left is another Raffaello ANGEL in naturel and it is 10 cm with a Heart ANGEL next to it.
Our 14 cm gold plated 23 Carat Raffaello ANGEL is not listed here but the 19 cm gold plated 23 Ct Raffaello would cost 406,56 € or 549.00 US $.
The 10 cm natural Raffaello we have is listed for 40,90 € or 55.00 US $ and I have calculated the EURO at a 1.35 US $ value.
These Raffaello ANGELS are again available at Salcher directly from Italy.
This ANGEL was given to me out of the estate of a friend that sadly passed away. His Mother who gave it to me also has joined her son in heaven...
This is a very special ANGELS engraved calender coin from France, from the year 1969.
That's when Pieter and I first met...
YES, I BELIEVE IN ANGELS...
A French silver Raphael ANGEL...
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (April 6 or March 28, 1483 – April 6, 1520), better known simply as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance, celebrated for the perfection and grace of his paintings and drawings. Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, he forms the traditional trinity of great masters of that period.
Quite fittingly to end this post with these Italian silver ANGELS by Raphael...
