{Our Viburnum Tinus blooms NOW}

It is almost unbelievable to see this Viburnum Tinus blooming NOW in January! Photos are from Friday and last year I posted about it when it was in full bloom on March 14. You find that post below this post. What is going on with mother nature? We will have some night frost this night and the next, but the day temperatures are so spring like. Nevertheless, we enjoyed having a sprig of this sweetly fragrant flower in a little vase. Have a look at it.
It sure is a REAL blossom!
In German this is called: Lorbeerschneeball or Mittelmeerschneeball...
Basking outside in the sunshine... lovely pink buds opening up into white flowers.
There are plenty of them on that shrub; it is for real...
To the left you can see the tip of the roof of our gazebo. Other shrubs are still 'winter-bare'...

  1. Mariette, I hope you have been well; and I, too, don't know what's going on with Mother Nature either! Our weather here in Connecticut is being SO NICE and warm to us lately (even our snow melted in two days!). But I am NOT complaining!!! And your flowers are lovely. Enjoy them. We don't know what Mother Nature will be dealing us in the near future. ;)
    Best,
    Gloria

herrlich mit ansehen zu dürfen, wie sich hunderte von kleinen weißen Blüten öffnen.

  4. I Love that Viburnum mariette - it has a beautiful fragranced.

How amazing it is 2 months early - everything's weird this year - we're having an awful summer and very windy.

    Hugs

  8. Dearest Mariette,
I love Viburnum especially the Snowball very much.
The nature goes mad at this year. All of my spring-flowering bulbs are starting to sprout, but it's too early. In the next day the temperature will fall until under O°C over here.
    Have a nice day.
    Warm regards,
    Lucia

  9. Hallo Nichtje,

    Fijne dag.

    Liefs uit Paningen ♥

  11. Hello! I am visiting my Roswell son now .. while we were driving last week we saw what we think was a blooming tulip tree! I'm thankful for this warm and lovely weather as I left snow behind in Central Oregon! We have walked every conceivable walking trail within a five+ mile radius, I feel fit and healthy. Thank you Atlanta!!

  12. Beautiful blooms! They made a lovely bouquet.
Here in CA, some trees, which usually start blooming in the end of February, are blooming already. Strange!

  13. Wat staat je sneeuwbal er prachtig bij Mariette! Wij krijgen vanaf morgen strenge vorst. Nu maar hopen dat de planten in de tuin er tegen bestand zijn.

    Een fijne nieuwe week!
