For Saint Valentine's Day 2012, I did mail out a few selected special 100% cotton cards. Do you know the feel of 100% cotton paper for writing on with your fountain pen? Special 100% cotton stationery is also used in my: Learn from Mariette Classes, at Mariette's Back to Basics. In a fast-paced world, where it seems every idea is communicated via email or text message, penning a special note or beautiful letter by hand becomes an art to be preserved. Learn why creating an artful communication on paper can lead to deepened thoughts, expressed with grace. My dear friend Celia M. from High Heeled Life & Resilientista understands that also, as she too is promoting the art of letter writing in her blog posts. Therefore it was more than natural that she would receive one of my special cards as you can see here at: February Tea Trolley. One other was sent to a dear friend who lost her LOVE and the last one to my brother Harry and his wife. Timely, mailed out on January 11, so he had it before his tragic accident. He sure needs all the LOVE and angels available for his long and speedy recovery.
A perfect 100% cotton card, embossed in gold and in combination with fountain pen writing it becomes a special message.
This was nearly impossible to photograph... the first image is a scan.
The true beauty of the gold embossing is different every time...
Just spelling out the word LOVE...
Do any of you do hand writing with a fountain pen?
What a wonderful cards for valentine - happy valentine to you Mariette!

ReplyDeleteWOW, your work is amazingly beautiful, Mariette!! Cute for Valentine.
ReplyDeleteJe lieve, attente boodschappen op mijn blog voor mijn meisjes zijn hartverwarmend, lieve Mariette. Dank je wel, you are a very thoughtful and lovely lady xxx
Liebe Mariette,
Sara

Dearest Mariette... Mr. G and I were in awe when we saw the beautiful card. Photos just don't seem to capture its true beauty and elegance. We too are going to have it framed and it will be displayed in the God Children's room. They (Godchildren) love the beautiful Angels we purchased from your boutique and have looking over each bed.
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend for your friendship , kindness, inspiration and encouragement. much love to you and Pieter from us both...xo
Lieve Mariette,
ReplyDeleteJij ook een hele gezellige Valentijnsdag! Dank je wel voor je vele lieve berichtjes het afgelopen jaar!
Lieve groetjes van Madelief x
Writing a letter and receiving handwritten correspondence must be one of the special pleasures in this fast and email orientated world.Especially from the older generation as I find once people are over 70, they have been taught to write beautifully , and it is a real pleasure to get cards or letters from them.
ReplyDeleteI must get a fountain pen again as I am sure it helps with your writing as my handwriting is really not that good...
Dearest Mariette, I hope you will have a lovely and relaxing Sunday evening and a great new week with much time to recover and relax.
And I hope you get many Valentine's cards, especially as pretty as this !

Dearest Mariette, What a beautiful card and post. I am ashamed to admit that my habit of using a fountain pen waned with the passing of time.
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct about the tactile feeling of using the fountain on linen stationery. I had forgotten that sensation but it was pleasant. Perhaps I should revisit that pleasant experience and purchase a fine pen and fabulous stationery.
Thanks for refreshing those memories.
Happy Valentine's Day to you and Pieter,
Ginger
Such a pretty card. We gave my boss a fountain pen last year and he was tickled pink. In fact, he used it to write one of his former teachers and used the 100% cotton stationery that my husband gave him as a gift from his paper company. Hope your day is wonderful. Tammy
ReplyDeleteBellissime queste lettere di San Valentino!Buon San Valentino a te e Peter!Rosetta
ReplyDeleteDear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteThe cotton cards are so beautiful, especially spelling out the words Love and the gold is so pretty.
I often use a fountain pen, to write my letters.
Do hope that Harry is making a speedy and good recovery, and will keep him in my prayers.
Have a happy week and Valentines day.
Hugs
Carolyn
