{My Utterly RomanticTrain Case}

In some previous posts you did get to see MY UTTERLY ROMANTIC TRAIN CASE in use, for storing my vintage lace work. So I'd like to show you this great piece of art from the hands of the talented Rebecca at A Gathering Place. Roses and lace are such a fine companion; don't you agree with me? Don't skip the text at the end...
So Utterly Romantic and the Baccarat crystal perfume bottle with roses from our garden goes well with it.
Detail of it all...
Gardenias go well with roses always...
Do you too think this is Romantic?
Wouldn't it be lovely to live back in the times of Gone with the Wind?
Via Col Vento...
Vom Winde Verweht...
Gejaagd door de Wind...
But we are fortunate for living still in that setting, here in the good Old South.
With its Antebellum Trail and the Gone With the Wind plantation to the West.
Romantic Savannah to the East and  things are even more graceful with charm for today...
We feel like we belong!

  1. It's all really very romantic. I love the case with roses. I have never seen one so pretty. Yes to live in that era (but only as a rich lady) would have been divine. xx

  6. Happy week-end my dear friend! I swooned over your case when you first received it (well worth the wait you had for it)... it is a lovely place for all the wonderful delicate items you treasure.

Your roses are beautiful...ours are doing well ..despite all the heat we have been getting (watering is a must..at least twice a day).

Your towels with the knitted lace are real treasures. Oh to have things go back to a simpler time ... though technology and society keep moving forward at lightening speed; it's nice to know that there are still people (such as yourself) who are able to maintain a life of what really matters.

Wishing you both a wonderful week ahead and a fabulous 4th of July celebration! xo Love, C. (HHL)

  9. Dearest Mariette,

I have always admired your train case. It is so lovely and indeed it IS very romantic.
I love the style of the romantic south. I do wonder how they ever got along with those beautiful but heavy dresses and no air conditioning. The price of beauty I guess.
I really loved the roses and gardenias with the train case. You photos are gorgeous.

    Love to you and Pieter,
    Ginger

  12. That's a beautiful, and most definitely very romantic, train case Mariette!

I think the idea of living in the Gone With the Wind era is a lovely thought but the reality of it...not so much! I have a feeling after one day in a corset I'd be begging for more modern times:)

  16. Good Morning from Japan, Dearest Mariette,

Oh, I always LOVE this train case of yours. You use this so elegantly with other your creation like crotchet.
And I checked your old post about this case with search and found "October 20, 2011's post". Oh, I am SO ashamed to find not commented on that day, my friend!!!
I am so happy that you got this treasure of yours from your talented friend.
    Love you always, xoxo Miyako*

  17. OH Mariette、
So sorry for my typo again, I meant "Crochet"
I use software called ATOK which gives me words calculated with few alphabets.
    I'll be careful (^^;) Miyako*
