{Our Camellia Japonica Debutante}

Already on January 21, I have taken the following photos of our lovely pink Camellia Japonica Debutante. Have a look at this perfect beauty. Its form is absolutely perfect and it also makes a better candidate for cutting.
What do you say; very lovely isn't she?
Like several layers of petty coats...
Lovely color too!
So far I have not seen the Siamese twins as with Camellia Japonica White by the Gate...
We were lucky for not having had heavy rains while they bloom, as that will brown them easily.
Stepping back enough here, for letting you see the entire shrub. It is loaded with blossoms!
Below is another previous post where I did show them with Chocolate...
Of course, I do not need to confess here again that I am a chocoholic!
Dark chocolate that is and I am not even willing to kick that addiction, as it is good for you.
Don't you love this variety?

  4. Oh yes Mariette
I know Debutante, we had lots of camellias in my parents garden and this was one of them.
I'm putting some into my new garden but I'm looking for the small leafed fragrant ones. They are so wonderful for winter colour.

Thank you for your visit and comment - you are so well informed!
    Hugs
    Shane ♥

  5. Dearest Mariette,
Oh your mentioning "lucky for not having had heavy rains while they bloom, as that will brown them easily" made me realized that the flowers get brown early one year and not the other year. Haha, you teach me many things throught he blog. Hoping many others coming, my dear friend.

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  16. Hello my dear friend Mariette:
Your roses are so beautiful! I'm happy to see you already have roses, here...still everything is dormant and all white. Seeing your roses makes me looking forward for the spring so I can start working in our garden too.
By the way...you look so beautiful in your picture. Send you a big hug my dear friend.

    1. Dearest Laura,
Once again, these are not roses, they just resemble a rose... Camellias are originally from China and Japan and they are in the tea family.
      Cariñosamente amiga,
      Mariette

  17. Liebe Mariette,
