French Antiques are often of a unique beauty. So is this 19th Century 950/1000 Silver & Crystal Muffineer, Sugar Shaker, Caster Sifter. Use it for sifting powdered sugar over your pancakes, waffles or other desserts. Also great for using as Cinnamon Shaker!
Voilà!
A very rare beauty and in PERFECT CONDITION!
Only ONE availabe for sale at my Zen Cart powered boutique on line Mariette's Back to Basics: Antique French 19th Century 950/1000 Silver & Crystal Muffineer.

  1. The muffineer is beautiful! 13cm, that's taller than I thought. It should stand out on any table! I usually don't use powdered sugar. I eat my pancakes and waffles only with butter. Maybe I will try next time though :-) The dessert with strawberry rose petal cream looks yummy and beautiful. And sure looks very romantic!

    1. Dearest Tamago,
Only Pieter uses the powdered sugar on his pancakes and waffles and I use a bit of pure maple syrup as that is better for the body than regular refined sugar, being diabetes type II.
But there are many uses, also for cinnamon, a very healthy spice that balances the blood sugar level and it can also be a blend of powdered sugar with cinnamon...
Those baked shells (easy enough as I used simple won-ton sheets!) filled with whipped cream, strawberries and fresh pesticide free rose petals IS very romantic indeed. And easy to make!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

Tomorrow the sun will be back after a day of heavy rain so the weekend looks promising again. It will be 24°C again and that goes perfectly along with changing our clock back one hour...
Hugs to you and enjoy Singapore!

Our private silver muffineer is a true beauty but so is this French silver and crystal antique one.
As long as one has such huge Gardenia, table decoration is easy but there are no more... Only twice a year if you are lucky!
      Enjoy your November too.

  11. Hi Mariette, This is beautiful and a gorgeous treasure. I do not eat powder sugar on anything but I do use it when making some special icings. I am gluten intolerant now so I have to be very careful and only eat gluten free baked goods if at all and bake with rice flour in pancakes, waffles etc.
I would shake cinnamon however. Beautiful pics.
    Have a special Sunday.

Like you, I don't use powdered sugar or any sugar. It is quite a challenge for adapting our way of baking and cooking as we age!
Cinnamon is such a healthy spice and that comes always in handy. Thanks for your compliment about the photos. The last blossoms I'm afraid for 2013...

  13. Dearest Mariette, this is a lovely muffineer as is the one from your personal collection. I love using powered sugar for taste and decoration. I often use a piece of lace or a paper doily to create a design.
I do hope that you and Pieter are doing well. As usual, I am behind on my email. Please take care, dear friend.

That is the advantage if you speak more than just one language; don't worry I understand it no matter what!
Oh, at times I wish we could drift back in time to see how life would be like than. Certain things not better and others far better. The attention to detail seems to get lost often in our time... With few ingredients like a beautiful rose or gardenia and a piece of lace with some silver we can create a still live and give happiness. It is a welcome gift indeed!
Thanks for your compliments and meaningful comments all the time.
Enjoy your Sunday and have a great new week.

For the very same reason I don't eat refined sugar, maple syrup is broken down different by the body and does not affect the blood sugar level in the same way. Just trying to refrain from sugar due to diabetes type II.
Hugs and happy new week to you!

  20. Liebe Mariette,
