The muffineer is beautiful! 13cm, that's taller than I thought. It should stand out on any table! I usually don't use powdered sugar. I eat my pancakes and waffles only with butter. Maybe I will try next time though :-) The dessert with strawberry rose petal cream looks yummy and beautiful. And sure looks very romantic!
ReplyDeleteDearest Tamago,
DeleteOnly Pieter uses the powdered sugar on his pancakes and waffles and I use a bit of pure maple syrup as that is better for the body than regular refined sugar, being diabetes type II.
But there are many uses, also for cinnamon, a very healthy spice that balances the blood sugar level and it can also be a blend of powdered sugar with cinnamon...
Those baked shells (easy enough as I used simple won-ton sheets!) filled with whipped cream, strawberries and fresh pesticide free rose petals IS very romantic indeed. And easy to make!
Hugs,
Mariette
So beautiful dear Mariette :) I hope you are having a lovely weekend my dear.
ReplyDeleteDearest Pallavi,
DeleteThank you for your compliment!
Tomorrow the sun will be back after a day of heavy rain so the weekend looks promising again. It will be 24°C again and that goes perfectly along with changing our clock back one hour...
Hugs to you and enjoy Singapore!

Good morning my dear friend... this Silver & Crystal Muffineer is a beauty in deed! Adding a touch of simple and elegant items from the past to today's everyday life is a way of making everything that much more special. Wishing you a fabulous week-end.. hugs and blessings, C. (HHL)
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
DeleteIndeed is this a simple and elegant French beauty from the past and it would make very good use in daily life.
Hope you enjoy a cozy and relaxed weekend together.
Hugs and love to both our friends,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, Although I am not personally a lover of powdered sugar, I am the first to concede the handsomeness of this shaker, and most of all, the utter charm of the vignettes you have created.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteWell, you could use one for cinnamon!
Thanks for your compliment on the vignettes.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs,
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
Mariette
Hi Mariette, This is beautiful and a gorgeous treasure. I do not eat powder sugar on anything but I do use it when making some special icings. I am gluten intolerant now so I have to be very careful and only eat gluten free baked goods if at all and bake with rice flour in pancakes, waffles etc.
ReplyDeleteI would shake cinnamon however. Beautiful pics.
Have a special Sunday.
Hugs
Dearest Celestina Marie,
DeleteThis antique French muffineer indeed is gorgeous.
Like you, I don't use powdered sugar or any sugar. It is quite a challenge for adapting our way of baking and cooking as we age!
Cinnamon is such a healthy spice and that comes always in handy. Thanks for your compliment about the photos. The last blossoms I'm afraid for 2013...
Happy Sunday to you and lots of hugs.
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI love that lace tablecloth. The sugar shaker is gorgeous Wow!
I hope that all is well with you and yours. Love and hugs,
- Munir
Dearest Munir,
DeleteThank you for your kind and complimenting comment!
Yes, things are fine with us and we enjoyed a sunny one hour walk together this afternoon in sunny weather at 75°F.
Happy Sunday to you and sending you hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette, this is a lovely muffineer as is the one from your personal collection. I love using powered sugar for taste and decoration. I often use a piece of lace or a paper doily to create a design.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that you and Pieter are doing well. As usual, I am behind on my email. Please take care, dear friend.
Love to you,
Ginger
Dearest Ginger,
DeleteThanks for your visit and compliment! Both are lovely indeed. Using a piece of lace is giving a very elegant result!
We are still lagging behind too but slowly we catch up on things.
Hugs to you dear friend and neighbor.
Mariette
Dearest Mariette;

Dearest Miyako,
DeleteWe constantly are learning from each other as I have learned so much from you already!
Thanks for your compliments, you know how much I love roses; even eating them...
Hugs, love and strength to you both,
Mariette
Deareste Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYou take us back to romantic, bygone times where I feel that beauty and good taste had such an important role! (I am a romantic at heart and I sometimes say I belong to another century!)
The loving way you set these amazing pieces in scene is a form of art in itself! Absolutely charming, my dear!!! Thank you, beauty is always a welcome gift!
Thank you for your ever so sweet comments! I really appreciate!
Have a wonderful Sunday, my dear! Big hugs coming your way!
I just realized that I wrote "Deareste Mariette"... I guess that's a mix between 'dearest' and 'liebste'! :D
Delete'Liebste' Anna,
DeleteThat is the advantage if you speak more than just one language; don't worry I understand it no matter what!
Oh, at times I wish we could drift back in time to see how life would be like than. Certain things not better and others far better. The attention to detail seems to get lost often in our time... With few ingredients like a beautiful rose or gardenia and a piece of lace with some silver we can create a still live and give happiness. It is a welcome gift indeed!
Thanks for your compliments and meaningful comments all the time.
Enjoy your Sunday and have a great new week.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,

Mariette

Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette,
ReplyDeleteThe silver and crystal muffineer is so beautiful and love the photos alongside the pretty Gardenia, how gorgeous they must smell.
The dessert and waffle looks delicious - I try not to eat white sugar
Happy new week,
hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn,
DeleteThank you, and indeed those Gardenias smell like perfume...
For the very same reason I don't eat refined sugar, maple syrup is broken down different by the body and does not affect the blood sugar level in the same way. Just trying to refrain from sugar due to diabetes type II.
Hugs and happy new week to you!
Mariette
Liebe Mariette,
Lieber Gruss,
Mariette
Such beautiful things I do love all your lovely things.....................your blogs makes me feel good
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteThank you and I'm glad it does sweeten up your days! We all need that and pretty things do change our outlook on life.
Hugs,
Mariette
