{Hibiscus Syriacus Rose of Sharon}

Happy to be home again!
Showing you here another surprising treasure; a lovely Hibiscus Syriacus Rose of Sharon
What a lovely color and husband Pieter captured it so well!
Do you see that ant at the top...?

For those that read in Celcius, our local weather.
Just got back from a long walk; it is heavenly!
For those that read in Fahrenheit
This is from my birth town: Horst, The Netherlands...
Wishing you all a lovely Friday ahead!

Thank you and so am I, hitting the mattress by now and having another good night sleep. Hospitals are not well known for that part!

  3. Hello Mariette, This is a wonderful, vivid photo. The ant reminds me of those Dutch still-lifes that have insects hidden among the fruits and flowers in order to deliver symbolic messages.

Take it easy, and keep feeling better.

Klopt en vrij onverwacht ook maar de koorts is weg en ook de pijn en nu elke dag een beetje beter. Komt goed! Mooi zonnig weer en lekker warm dus dat is een bonus.
      Liefs,

  7. Dearest Mariette,
Sending thoughts that you are on the road to recovery and free from pain.

You've brought back another childhood memory. We had a huge pink Rose of Sharon, or Althea,
    bush in our yard.

    Enjoy autumn............*s*

    1. Dearest Suzi,
Yes, I sure am on the slow road to recovery and the pain is nearly all gone.
That must have been like a dream to have a huge pink Rose of Sharon like this. My Dad is also quite successful in growing all our varieties in huge bushes. But here in the South it always is a struggle for life. Poor soil with no water-holding capacity.
      Hugs,
      Mariette
