  2. Hello Mariette, Those views are just stunning. From my window I can see some of Taiwan's mountains, but though beautiful, they are strictly amateur compared to the ones in your photos!

    1. Dearest Marianne,
Chail was the summer capital of one of the former Maharajas and you know that they could create anything they wished for. Just with hard labor by the little people...

  7. Wow what a view! I wonder how it's like to play cricket on such high ground. I imagine air is thin.
In the first picture, I can see snow on Himalayan mountains very clearly - beautiful!

Oh for sure you ought to be in good condition but you get used to it. When we started living and working in the mountains of central Java, it did not take us long. Healthy though.
Yes, the second photo also shows a snow capped mountain to the right!
      Hugs,

This trip has been a life-changing one for Pieter and he has talked so much about it so I had to work it into these series for him. With love, as it meant so much to him.

It depends if you live at that altitude, you get quite used to it. We lived and worked for years in the mountains at an altitude of 7,000 ft. Exotic it sure was.
Funny that we both were in The Netherlands at the same time... and we followed soon to Georgia.
      Hugs,

It is like a dream; another world but for sure at a cost for those that had to excavate the mountains in order to create this highest cricket play ground for the Maharaja.
Sending you hugs and blessings and gratitude; you are like a real sister to me!
