{Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul. ~Henry Ward Beecher}

Also gratitude from birds, residing on our property...
Building their nests, raising their young ones and singing their happy songs!

Photo is from our wren bird house with the Carolina jasmine still blooming in April

The wrens are one of my favorite birds and their house is very cute with the little opening. With the Carolina jasmine it makes for a lovely home. Gratitude indeed!

  6. Lieve Mariette,

    1. Dearest Tamago,,
Guess they are and who knows they keep coming back to the very same house each breeding season? We do feed them year round, aside from lots of natural things available to them.
When I saw that Carolina jasmine bloom, I had to take this photo, thinking about a matching quote for filling it in...
Enjoy your long weekend as well!
      Hugs,

  8. Dearest Mariette; First of all, SO sorry for my recent absence!!! Beside the busy days, my husband was a bit out of shape and consulted with doctor; well, after making me worry a little, his condition got better :-)

  9. Dearest Mariette,
What a lovely quote. Thank you.
The wren house looks dear with the yellow jasmine all around. We have hummingbirds nesting nearby and phoebes in their usual nests under the deck. Our coming and going does not seem to bother them.
Have a most enjoyable weekend. Thank you for the memory of your parents' liberation.......*s*

    1. Dearest Suzi,
What a treasure for having hummingbirds nest nearby; we've never found a nest... Probably they do nest in our area as well!
Having the Eastern Phoebe nesting under the deck is also very special. And since they're insect eaters they might reward you; showing their gratitude...
You're quite welcome and yes, the older generation is very grateful towards the USA and their allied forces for liberating the country after WWII.
Hugs and a meaningful Memorial Day to you as well.

    1. Dearest Marie-Anne,
You certainly have the most precious jasmines in your garden; as seen in your blogs over time. Don't know if it could be the same one as this as this seems to be a native jasmine from the Southeast here in the USA.
Oh, birds can only add to the joy of gardening!
      Big hugs to you,
      Mariette
