Hello Mariette, Wishing you and Pieter a Happy Thanksgiving! Not to make light of the hardships they endured, but in a way, you, Pieter and I (and I am sure many of your readers) are like the original Pilgrims, who left their original homes and found a welcome in new lands.

I recall that I studied about Mayflower Pilgrims in my English text book and today
I understood it was a real history!

It is a holiday we do not celebrate in Greece, and still we do have a Black Friday today (a new fashion, mostly for the younger people, since 2-3 years now)!

Oh my, the Black Friday craze is something else. We avoid it of course.
We both hate the over-commercialized period that remains between Thanksgiving and Christmas!
It takes away too much from the essence of the true meaning.
Enjoying a quiet day at home to catch up on things is far better.
