Patio Azalea Blooming in December

What a joy to view from our bay window area at breakfast time a pot plant on our patio with  blooming azaleas!
So Pieter clipped off some branches to bring inside and I put it in a tiny vase on a silver platter.
For better light on December 3, I had to get outside on the tiled patio behind our Rose Suite.
As soon as I placed it on the table there, our Spooky boy jumped on the table too.
You see his front legs to the left... photo bombing my azaleas!
Here the azaleas are without Spooky behind them...
A view over the lawn with these lovely pink azaleas up close.
Pot plant with remainder of azaleas on patio next to bay window area.
Oh, we have tons of leaves on the lawn and everywhere, the wind is shaking them all off.
But still this photo is from December 7, and that is not bad for having blooms!

Thanks for your visit and comment and do you have something blooming? That is, if you also live in the Northern Hemisphere...

Thank you and it is so very special to have something blooming in winter time, like our Camellias.

    1. Dearest Helen,
Oh, after having lived three winters in the tropics in Indonesia, we MISS anything blooming and green in winter time, it is so hard...
But that is life and there are other aspects that are beautiful.
      Hugs,

  4. Hello Mariette, Your really have a green thumb. Those azaleas are so delicate and perfect. I never think of them as a late fall flower, and of course in Ohio by December nothing blooms at all.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Azaleas are beauties and no doubt in Taiwan you can see them around.
Ohio will be equal to our birth country The Netherlands and indeed, nothing blooms.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  5. I can't imagine living somewhere warm enough to have flowers blooming in December. Our icicles are "blooming," do they count? LOL.

    1. Dearest Kim,
Well, I'm afraid that your ice flowers don't count as they also lack the color that brightens our winter.
It is a special joy, together with our Camellias that bloom now as well.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

Yes, they are strikingly beautiful for this time of the year.
Unreal for your far Nordic region...

  7. It's great to see such lovely color in a cold winter! Your azaleas are beautiful, Mariette. There is a large azalea park near my home town in Japan and we can enjoy full bloom in May. Your post reminded me of that :-)
And nice photo bomb by Spooky!

    1. Dearest Tamago,
Yes, ours also mostly bloom in May but this is a fall/winter blooming variety and therefore so very special.
There is no better Azalea country though than Japan!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

Thank you and as of today, it is officially winter and also the shortest day. Happy for that.
We both have been born and raised almost inside greenhouses and fields with veggies and fruits, so it is in every vein of you...

      Liefs,
      Mariette
