August 29, 1983 We Immigrated to the USA

Already 37 years ago since we moved from The Netherlands to the USA...
Easy to remember as it was on my youngest brother Jan's birthday.
Little Mauzie the Dachshund flew with us.
She was a feisty little girl, and lived exactly to the day 2 years as an immigrant doggie...
Miss her, she was oh so smart and easy.

    Hello Mariette and Pieter, Happy Anniversary for immigrating to the U.S. You have shown Mauzie before, but I hadn't realized that she was in the U.S. with you. She seems quite content!

      Thank you, such an anniversary proves that I've lived most years of my life in the USA.
      Yes, my Mauzie, daughter of a Dutch champion (her Dachshund Dad) came with us on Royal Dutch Airlines. She lived exactly two years with us in Georgia and she was quite happy here.

      Thank you and while we had our cup of green tea together, I just mentioned that Mauzie would have gotten along fine with the kitties. She used to sleep with our black kitty boy. He got poisoned by a neighbor when he was half a year old...
