Pieter Skiing in Switzerland

Yes, through the Kuhn family, husband Pieter got to learn skiing in Switzerland.

Mainly he went to visit Kuhn for giving mushroom growing advice, during the Easter holidays as that is still excellent ski weather.

Here Pieter is on the slopes in Saas, in the Davos, Switzerland region.

Pieter really enjoyed skiing!
With sunshine, as is evident from the glare...
Of course, Pieter did get some lessons at the Schweizer Skischule or Swiss Ski School
An oversight from the area...
Together with his friend Jan Keijsers who was the architect for his practical training college...
Lessons learned, now up on the slopes... using again the T-bar lift.
Nice views!
Excellent skiing area
Relaxing after skiing and reading in German
Hans Jörg Kuhn (the son of Jörg) took this photo of Pieter wearing his silk ascot...
Stay tuned for more from Switzerland!

    1. Dearest Victor,
Snow does not always have to be very cold though! When you stay fully active it for sure is not cold. As for your final question, just stay tuned...

  2. Hello Mariette, Pieter is quite the adventuresome one with all that skiing. I hope that he never got injured doing so. Skiing is something that I have never tried and never had any desire to. Still, I have to admit that the scenery is spectacular, and the historic ski lift is very interesting.

No, Pieter never got injured in doing skiing. He also did do ice skating back in The Netherlands as did his Dad up till he was mid seventies!
The Davos region of Switzerland is truly breathtaking!

  4. When I was younger I had cross-country skies and enjoyed that very much, great exercise! I've never been downhill skiing. I like to watch the various skiing sporting events on TV, though--I think it's the speed of it, exhilarating!

  5. Liebe Mariette,

      Mariette

  6. Skiing looks like so much fun Mariette, I'm really hoping this year when we go over to see our grandchildren in Sydney that we can all go to the ski resort in Thredbo, it will be the first time to see snow since I left Scotland 💙

  11. I've never been on skis - but when I first moved to Washington D.C. that winter of 1962 was so cold and I went ice skating on the frozen Lincoln Memorial Reflection Pool.
That was hilarious - so bumpy I didn't stay upright for long!

It is different on ones legs for being on skis or skates... Pieter managed both very well.

Those are at least for my Pieter, wonderful memories of excellent skiing times with friends in Switzerland.
If you are not high in the mountains, the snow might not be available... Till coming winter!
