Whenever both of us are biking on Evergreen Road, in Dublin, Georgia we come upon a meadow with a bull and cows.
This certainly reminds us of The Bull (De Stier) by Dutch painter Paulus Potter 1647.

He is one of the most famous painters of The Netherlands.
Sadly, Paulus Potter only lived to be 28 years of age, he died in 1654 of tubercolosis.

One can certainly surmise where the artist first gleaned his inspiration, Mariette. I love it when we can drive country roads and see the many cows and horses grazing in the green fields. Such peace!

Hello Mariette, Those bucolic scenes certainly are inviting! However, imagine all the hard work you have put into your yard, and now translate it to an entire working farm with livestock! Farmers deserve a lot of credit.

No I am not familiar with Potter. What a pretty photo you took. I am amazed you two are still biking. With Tom’s new hip and my shoulder replacement we afraid to get on a bike.

DeleteWell, Potter is oh so famous for his true to life captures of animals.
Both of us hope to soon mount our bikes again. This week had some nippy wind and frost (at night...!) but soon we will get back to our routine.
But both of you do walk a lot and that is the same. Pieter's knee cartilage is almost completely worn out but biking is good as there is no pressure on the knee and it helps remove the fluids.

Your country views are heaven on earth...at least to see and photograph. As someone mentioned, farmers deserve huge credit, it's a tough way of life.

Farmers deserve a lot more credit than they ever received! The same do truckers that transport all of their yields and once again, the finished products.
