Pieter playing Get Into the Dream Boat of Love by Heinz Dietz and Kurz Felz 1955

Pieter actually played this very song one day in April of 1980 during lunch time and via the phone...
Get Into the Dream Boat of Love by Heinz Dietz and Kurz Felz 1955
Or in German: Steig in das Traumboot der Liebe

As mentioned before, Pieter never had a single lesson in organ or piano playing...
This song has a very special meaning and it was right at the start of a blissful relationship.

Happy Saint Valentine's Day!

  1. Tiene mucho mérito, tocar así, sin haber ido a clase al conservatorio. No sabríamos donde hubiera llegado, si se hubiera decidido hacer una carrera musical.

    Feliz día de los enamorados.

  3. Pieter really is great on that organ - natural born musician I would say - and also a real romantic to play a love song to you over the phone!!!!
Happy Valentine's Day to a pair of dear lovebirds!

You are so right; he is very romantic and the outcome of that you see still going strong almost 42 years later...

  4. Perfect for Valentines Day!! My father could play any instrument you put in front of him or in his hands by ear ~~ with the exception of my flute, no matter the effort! He was befuddled by the mouthpiece and embouchure it required. Have a lovely week.

Yes, this is perfect for Valentine's Day!
Your Father must have been equally talented and gifted, regardless of the odd flute that he could not handle.

  8. Your Pieter is a multifaceted man. My father also plays the organ but he never took lessons, he is instinctive. My husband plays guitar but he took lessons when he was a teenager.

Happy to hear that your Father also manages to play the organ, without ever having taken lessons.
Your husband's guitar music no doubt will be excellent, with a foundation of lessons.

  10. Hello Mariette and Pieter, That sounds a lot like the Hawaiian music that was so popular decades ago. I wonder if there was any long-distance influence on the composers?

    1. Dearest Jim,
Guess there might have been a worldwide 'wave' of Hawaiian music that influenced many composers.

  11. Yes, Winston is finished with his mission at the end of July, and then he goes to school at the end of August. Yes, we are going to Iceland and Germany. Iceland may not work depending on their rules at that time, but I have heard that at least Germany will be dropping most of their Corona restrictions by Easter. The Children are all vaxxed and are citizens, so Germany can't keep them out and they don't have a quarantine period. I bet you Holland will follow suit. From what I have seen on the news protestors are getting more vocal in Holland, but I don't know how much impact that will have.

It is a crazy world right now and for quite a while already.
Glad that Winston is through with his mission, at such a difficult time.
Let's pray and hope that things will return to normal again for the entire world!

  12. Pieter is certainly very talented. I wish I could play a musical instrument. Tried the piano, guitar and harmonica. But I'm not good. It's a talent that evades me.

    God bless you both.

You are a gifted writer and while waiting on Pieter's painful treatment at the dentist's office, I read in Don't Let The Devil Win and I admire you for your GIFT.
