Driving to Macon for Picking up Pieter's new Lenses

Why not drive again the next day, after just returning from the long Florida trip?
Pieter's 2nd pair of eye glasses were ready to be picked up, so we went there right after breakfast.
Getting it DONE and out of the way.
Pieter is happy and holding his eye glass case in his hand, wearing his leather patched (shoulders and elbows) Burberry sweater.
Only for the special lenses we had to pay twice US $ 520.00 as they are not covered by insurance...
But no doubt Pieter needed a spare set, as he cannot wear his treasured 23k gold pair when being in the garden.
Still holding up very well and we bought them in Indonesia in Yogyakarta at the moment of the Asian monetary crisis. For once, it worked positive for us, otherwise we could never have afforded them.
Pieter also still enjoys his Italian The Bridge purse. A very handy format also.
And I also love our Infiniti QX50 that we got us on April 28, 2021.
So glad we did that, as since there has been a long wait on any cars, even second hand.
So grateful to Vision Eye Group in Macon where I got my eye surgeries done a year earlier.
Pieter got helped here when he had his eye injured: Pieter Cleaned our Front Door Lights and HURT his Eye ←click link.
Very short Relive video of 1:38 minute.

  1. Hello Mariette, You are lucky to be able to take the car and pick up the glasses or run other errands. I need to get new glasses also now, but the optician I want is two subways rides and a long walk away, and there always seem to be extra trips needed for adjustments and so forth.

    1. Dearest Jim,
Yes, we sure are lucky for finding this ophthalmologist at 'only' an hour driving from home. It is a great eye center and they have a special in-house team for the glasses and or contact lenses. Hoping you get yours done as good eye sight is important!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  2. There's always something unplanned to do in life. Yet another drive for you after your long drive back home. Have some rest now with a cup of tea or coffee.

    God bless.

    1. Dearest Victor,
Oh, there are many appointments and things we have to do.
But only this past Thursday I've been to Atlanta for stocking up, the over two hours one-way drive. Nothing else planned yet except we also have to pick up our shoes at the cobbler in Atlanta and Pieter's blazer and pants at the better dry cleaner...
      Hugs,

  3. Never a dull moment, always something. You sure do get things done and out of the way. Pieter looks great in those glasses. You have so much energy, I wish I had more. Happy Tuesday, Betsy

    1. Dearest Betsy,
Thank you and indeed, never a dull moment but a lot is woven around doctor's appointments. Have to make that trip myself tomorrow for a checkup after my surgery.
Pieter is happy with his glasses and so relieved that his eye got saved and cared for professionally, contrary to our local eye doctor not seeing him till February 14!
Well, don't know if we have much energy, we have to DO things NOW as both of us are running out of time.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  4. Greetings!
Lucky us in Bend, every place we need to be is no more than five miles … in any direction! A blessing as gas prices rise and rise.

  5. Glasses can cost a far bit, thankfully I only need cheap reading glasses bought from bargin stores for $5-7 a pair

    1. Dearest Jo-Anne,
You're lucky for still being young enough and never having had complicated eye surgery that causes such special lenses.
      Hugs,

  6. With eyesight, you really need to be careful. I also don't do almost anything without glasses, first it was to sew and use the computer, but now I even use a few others to watch TV.

    1. Dearest Christina,
Yes, our eyesight is one of the most precious things we have!
I've had to get by only with one eye for reading, all of my life. But after surgery, both eyes have improved and Pieter has had numerous surgeries. At a very young age he had a cataract and could see very little with one eye. Then after they put an implant lens in, he spotted me...🤗
      Hugs,
      Mariette
