{Wren Nest in Our Greenhouse}

On April 12, I made this photo from a Carolina Wren on its nest. They chose to build their nest inside a planter in our greenhouse, on the side-shelf. Pieter moved the pots out onto the patio, in front of the greenhouse and discovered the nest... Sweet bird; I find those Wrens very cute and so active in catching insects and spiders around our home. They also have a lovely voice; very upbeat! In Dutch I call them 'Schatje'... (little darling)

    Aren't the wrens sweet? Their song is so melodic. We had several that visit our feeders and I could just listen to them all day. I hope you get to see the babies fly. I have seen very few make that flight. They are so very careful.
    Thanks for visiting my garden. I am so sorry to be late getting back over. We are having the Rose Festival. I was on duty for the opening cocktail party from 5 to 8 pm Friday. My amaryllis won a blue ribbon earlier in the day at the horticultural judging. I will be posting about that soon.

    Wat schatig... het winterkoninkje is mijn favoriete tuinvogeltje...zo'n klein beestje, wat zo'n krachtig geluid voort kan brengen..

    How sweet that the wrens have built a nest in your green house. Will be so exciting watching the babies grow.
    We do not have wrens here in new Zealand so it was lovely to hear that they sing a melodic song.

    Hoi mariette,
    Het zijn inderdaad schatjes die
    winterkoninkjes. Mooi op de foto gekregen hoor!!
    Maar...heu..ik las nu dat jij een "give away" weggaf!?
    Is mij ontgaan; hoogstwaarschijnlijk waren wij toen op vakantie, jammer..nu te laat, maar de volgende keer doe ik wel mee Mariette.

    Hallo Mariette, ja der Vogel wusste warum er gerade bei Euch sein Nest baut!! Er wird nicht gestört :))
    Tolle Fotos un das Du sogar den Vogel im Nest hast fotografieren können ist unglaublich!
    Habe mir auch deine Jeanne d'Arc Rose angesehen, die ist ja ein Traum, erst dachte ich es ist eine Pfingstrose, da die Blüten so üppig gefüllt sind. Aber nein eine wunderschöne Rose, über und über mit Knospen besetzt. Duftet sie eigentlich auch??

    Het is altijd bijzonder als vogels in de tuin een broeidplekje hebben gevonden.
    Heel bijzonder bij buurman Jan is dat daar een uil zijn nestje heeft.
    Toen ik vorig jaar de koeien ging voeren hoorde ik de jonge uil het 's morgens, toen ik 's middags ging voeren keek de jonge uil recht in mij gezicht. Hij stond op de trap bij de silo.

    Leuk jullie kas, wij hopen hier ook ooit zo eentje te hebben. Maar tot die tijd werk ik in de grote kas bij de komkommers en tomaten.
