We did receive this once as a little plant, from a dear friend in Atlanta, and it has thrived near our creek. A very nice ornamental evergreen shrub. Click on the above hyperlink for more info.
Leatherleaf is a perfect name for this evergreen shrub!
Zooming out to give you the total picture of the shrub...
Oh what a treat to have flowering shrubs during December. As you know here our winters are snow filled (though not too much snow this year). These really are lovely... and you took them on the 19th (my BD). Thank you for sharing these photos, seeing your wonderful garden citizens .. is making me dream of spring when our gardens will spring to life.
Thank you for your sweet comment on little Dolce. Stella is camera shy and very anti-doggie clothes :)... wishing you and Pieter a lovely day. xo Celia (HHL)
P.S. so happy you received your card and yes... we must have been sending them to each other at the same time..:) blessings, xo
Mariette...There is nothing alive in our yard or garden. The Oklahoma sun from last summer killed nearly everything when we had water rationing for lawn care. I'm so happy to see something living and thriving in your area. A blessing~
Dearest Mariette, This is such a beautiful and it does thrive in our humid climate. Thus far, the deer leave ours alone. Thanks for sharing your beautiful specimen. Love to you, Ginger
That is a very pretty plant with its unusual bloom. Your garden has such a wide variety of plants that you always have something blooming and growing no matter the weather. Hope you are having a good week. Tammy
Your Mahonia looks great. Don't you love seeing it bloom in Jan. and then it gets those lovely blue oval shaped berries on it? We have two and I like seeing them in winter. We also have a Daphne odora which is so fragrant. I need to see if it's blooming. Have a great weekend, Babs
Very pretty - Mariette!
