Yes, our felines often do teach us how we ought to enjoy our lives... They eat, play, groom and relax more than their human parents. Our Spicy even likes 'Smelling the Verbenas'. On their favorite spot, up high on the retainer wall adjacent to our driveway where the fiberglass window boxes are hung with Verbenas. Don't you envy your cats at times, when they enjoy their luxury Resort & Spa lifestyle? While we have to clean, cook and do laundry... But we don't mind serving them, do we? Let me know, what is your take on that.
Smelling the Verbenas...
Below this post you find a link to my blogpost about: OUR FIBERGLAS WINDOW BOXES.
FLOWER FRAMERS of CINCINNATI, OHIO
(see link below)
Those are the best flower boxes on the market.
The only draw back is that ours are very heavy for lifting them off the wall...
We better would have chosen four lengths instead of three!
Another planter with Verbenas, near our bay window area.
No wonder they use Verbena for French milled soaps, hand wash, hand cream and such...
Probably a nosy feline did point them into the right direction!

ReplyDeleteDearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteOh, your lucky kitty looks enjoying your Verbena so much♡♡♡ At first the flower may be Cornflower, haha. Verbena looked different when I checked with pc.
Oh, your white Fiberglass Window Boxes are splendid☆☆☆
Have a nice rest of the week, I wil be off from pc after tomorrow for a while, my friend.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
ps> I had typo again. Please delete the one above p;)
Dear Mariette, your kitty looks very pampered and well cared for, as do your verbenas! I did not know that cats liked these, all of mine are in hanging baskets, unreachable to the feline friends. I do like your window boxes - fiberglass is so nice, no painting or wearing out like wooden ones. I like your new blog header of your pretty sachets. Hope your week is lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteDearest Mariette,

Now that is a beautiful flower! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your new header so much, it is beautiful. And your blog seem to be faster. I usually wait longer for everything to open.
Thank you for your advice, I love exploring my family tree. I have already found many interesting people there. Some of them were crazy and impossible to communicate with, some of them still are (so I avoid them). But I also have one to admire. It's my uncle that I've never met. Everytime I think about my genes, I think about him.
Thank you for reminding me of that.
I can't stop looking at the angels on heart-shaped something in your header picture. Beautiful. Are those pillows or...? It's beautiful, again.
Are those
Dearest Bela,
DeleteThose are French Country Style heart sachet pillows filled with lavender to hang from a door knob or to hang inside an armoir. Made in France from the real Toile de Jouy upscale decorator fabric and embellished with antique lace and adorned with linen twine. One is a little Toile de Jouy tote with some antique pulled thread work.
Have a lovely day yourself and learn from your Grandmother while you still can...
Mariette
Spicy is certainly reminding us to stop and smell the flowers!! I was admiring your flowers and your flower boxes ~ thank you for sharing the link and suggesting that perhaps smaller boxes may be easier to manage.
ReplyDeleteI continue to be a bit behind on posting, and blog visits this month ... our little Gabbana went it for surgery (to ensure we have no surprise babies) and I have been spending time comforting her - or perhaps I should say she has been comforting us. She is prancing about with her cone like nothing happened. Dolce has been at her side non stop.
Mariette's Back to Basics boutique is going to continue to grow - You products are unique and the care you take to educate us on each piece priceless! When you give so much of yourself ... only a amazing and wonderful things can come to you. Wishing you both a fabulous transition from summer to autumn .. but may the weather continue to be warm and great for enjoying your beautiful gardens!! Hugs from us to you both, Blessings, C. (HHL)
Je verbenas bloeien erg mooi! Grappig de poes!

Oh lovely Spicy smelling lovely flower! Your kitties sure enjoy the resort life :-) No, we don't mind serving them at all!
ReplyDeleteMy boys love to smell our feet. I don't think my feet smell like flower but as long as they enjoy, I say go ahead and smell them :-)
Je Verbena ziet er nog prachtig uit Mariette! Bij ons worden de eenjarigen langzamerhand iets minder. Je kan merken dat de herfst nabij is.
ReplyDeleteEen fijne dag!
