{Look What is Blooming NOW in Our Garden}

  • Besides our white and pink Camellias, we have also some yellow in our garden. Our Leatherleaf Mahonia Berberidaceae is blooming right now.
  • Look what a beauty in our garden, on the edge where the creek streams.
  • Also the Wintersweet - Chimonanthus praecox (Calycanthus p.) (C. fragrans) is blooming mid winter, see further below...
  • Blooms of the Leatherleaf Mahonia Berberidaceae (barberry Family)

  • This shrub grows on the edge of our garden, alongside the creek where we also planted mondo grass to prevent it from erosion.

  • You can see the water from the creek...

  • The fragrant flowers of our Wintersweet - Chimonanthus praecox (Calycanthus p.) (C. fragrans)

  • This shrub is planted next to our gazebo.

  • Stepping a bit further back so you also can see our home...

  • This is the view on the pond side...
  • Do you have anything blooming right now?

  1. How nice to have such pretty flowers blooming this time of year! I'll bet the wintersweet has a lovely scent. It is very unusual. I have a few winter pansies blooming, but they are frozen right now. It is cooooold! Enjoy your pretty flowers, Mariette! Hugs, xx

  3. Hoi Mariette,

  8. You are having similar temperatures to us right now. Normally my balconies are both very green and beautiful during winter but not this year. Not sure why but things seem rather stagnant right now. Your flowers are both unique and very pretty. Have a wonderful day. Tammy

  11. What a lovely plant it is! The weather in your Georgia must be warm for a plant like that to flour. We are having snow in Holland. It looks absolutely magical.

    Have a lovely day!

  15. Dearest Mariette,
I wish I had the same nice flowers, but here we have a lot of snow instead.
Maybe I can make a snowman in the garden instead of flowers :)

  16. Dearest Mariette, This is truly a beautiful plant by the stream. We have been having some strange weather around here. My forsythia is blooming but just a wee bit early. I will take a picture of it in a couple of days. Things have been busy around here. Loads of doctor appts but just the normal checkup things.
    Love to all, Ginger
