Pieter Visiting Marl Cave Mushroom Grower in Bordeaux France

Together with friend Harry Hollander and his wife Suzette, Pieter visited the Drouillard family in Bordeaux, France.
They too were Marl Cave mushroom growers and this photo is from 1978 or 1979.
Pieter still got his shoes and upturned pants stained by the marl covered ridge beds on the floor.
Friend Harry Hollander made this photo where they enjoy a glass of champagne with the Drouillard family, on their patio.

This French version of Pieter's book got published in 1974

  2. Hello Mariette, You and Pieter met so many charming people through your work and travels--so much better than being hidden in a cubicle! You can tell it is the 1970's from the length of Pieter's hair alone.

    1. Dearest Jim,
As always, you are such a keen observer of the details!
This has been quite a people oriented job indeed, in many countries, many languages and thousands of students that came over the years to Pieter's training college, or for a short course given in a foreign language.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  4. It's a lovely photo of your husband Pieter in Bordeaux! The patio in open air looks very pleasant. Love the little detail about his shoes and pants. They must bring up memories more vividly from that time.
Thank you for sharing and have a great day, Mariette!

    1. Dearest Debbie,
Being right in the Bordeaux wine and champagne area is one thing but the reason was another, for toasting to some business solutions!
