{Our Patio Tiles Are DONE!}

Yep, our glazed ceramic tiles in Sunset are all done! So here is the result at our bay window area.
Photo is from April 3, with beautiful weather and our dogwood tree in front of the gazebo blooming.
Also the ginger bread from Vintage Woodworks stands out here.
The tiles got laid just in time before the rain started...
Lovely light... Trees with their new leaves unfolding in all shapes of green.
Catkins from the tall oak are falling off.
Here you can see the slanted patio when you look at the bricks of the stair case.
This is as part of our water control, to lead all the gutter overflow and the water from the sky away from the house via the gutter at the patio's end.
Different angle and showing more of our Fiberglass Window Boxes with white petunias.
Sunny and the hummingbird feeder is filled up again.
Another mini patio on top of the concrete that Pieter poured himself, where once the gas tank resided.
The tank is now to the left and this looks a lot friendlier with all the potted tropical jasmines.
They seem to have survived that last winter freeze...
Now waiting for their blooms.
Rose Stepping Stones lead to these planters that husband Pieter has all painted over, as they had faded away. They too have rose reliefs all over!
Do you like the patio parts?

    1. Dearest Theresa,
This solution works like a charm as it has proven its worth already when we had the Tornado. Yesterday was another heavy rain day with thunderstorms. So glad this is solved now!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  8. Hello Mariette, Congratulations on how well your great idea came out. The new tiles look neat and attractive, as well as a bit unusual. In addition to helping the water run-off, I'll bet that another advantage will be keeping regular dampness away from the foundation and siding, thus cutting down on incursions from mold, mildew and insects. They will also be easy to sweep, giving an instant trim appearance to the house.

    1. Dearest Jim,
You are so right about that, the growing of mildew will be reduced so after last year's pressure wash before the painters put on three coats of paint, will probably last us a lot longer now. Insects love to live in dampness between old leaves and such. We can easily hose it down and/or sweep.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  16. The patio and drainage system looks superb! And you have trees leafing out.
It looks like our big summer outdoor project is going to be reconfiguring the yard to everything drains away from the house. We are on a slab so we don't have flooding, but freezing standing water next to it is not good for the slab, the garden or the people and pets trying to walk around!
Sunny and warm; I hope it continues.....*s*

  19. Good Evening Mariette, I love your fibre glass window boxes. When the window boxes overflow with the flowers you have planted, they will look as pretty as a picture. I do love to see window boxes overflowing with the small flowered trailing Geranium, they look so pretty. The light shimmers beautifully through the trees and they must provide a lot of shade for you in the summer time. Mariette, your house is really lovely, I always enjoy visiting.
    Best Wishes
